12% My Clinic In Another World / Chapter 11: Tavern

Chương 11: Tavern

After Marston had left Han exchanged the sword and the trinkets for coins. He also cleaned up the bed and changed the sheets he was pissed about since he was doing the nursing work. After cleaning, he went into his room and fell asleep.

The Next Day, In the morning, 3rd Floor.

Han freshened up in the bathroom. "Sophie, are there any restaurants that serve good breakfast near me? I want to have a picnic and explore the city a bit. It is not like I am getting more patients any time soon."

[Host, because of the ongoing war all the nobility serving restaurants have been closed. A person is not allowed to enter them unless special permission is given by the king. Only the taverns are currently open.]

Han was flabbergasted, 'You mean I must eat that grubby food? I have seen many fantasies shows and trust me Tavern food would not do justice to my stomach.' The next second, his stomach growled. 'I guess I'll have to go,' he thought conflicted as he patted his stomach.

'Take me to the nearest Tavern,' thought Han as a map appeared in front of him on a blue screen.

[Location Selected]

A blue arrow appeared on the ground and wearing his pajamas, Han followed the arrow toward the city.

A few minutes later, Han arrived on a road finally getting out of the forest. He followed the arrow to the tavern as he passed several closed stores and stalls. The streets were empty, but few people still lurked in the market. He also saw some shadows in dark alleys, which he would not have the courage to go to.

Han stopped as the blue arrow pointed toward his destination. He stood before a cabin that had 'Sun Tavern' written on a broken sign.

'At least let's hope the food is good,' Han thought as he stepped inside the tavern. It was old school, it had a bar and some tables lined up for dining though there were only 2 more people sitting inside.

Han went up to the bar. "What do you have for breakfast," he asked the lady.

"What a rare sight! We do not sell fancy items here; we have soup and bread for breakfast available. "Would you like some?" said the lady.

Han sighed internally and nodded. 'I don't have a choice anyway but what's up with the attitude,' he thought as he sat down. He could feel the glares from the 2 other people who were sitting in the tavern. 'Is it maybe because of what I'm wearing,' he wondered. He looked at his pajamas and shrugged. 'So uncomfortable here. I was thinking of exploring the rest of the city but since there is an eerie atmosphere here. I do not feel like it anymore. Let us just go back home after eating,' he thought.

People were right to glare at him since the other people had protective gear, such as helmets and armor, while Han walked wearing thin and baggy clothes.

"Here's your order!" said the lady as she muttered an unknown language and levitated the tray putting it on the table.

Han was mesmerized and looked at the lady with sparkly eyes. It was understandable since it was his first time seeing a magic spell being cast. He at once got up from his seat and walked to the bar. "How did you learn that?" he asked.

"Learn what?" said the lady clueless.

"The spell," said Han.

"I knew it nobles are incompetent that's why this happened to this city," she muttered.

Looking at Han she made a gesture with her fingers.

Han clicked his tongue and slipped her a silver coin.

The lady's eyes widened, and she instantly grabbed the coin. "I learned it from the Magic

Tower when I was a trainee there," she said proudly.

"Then can I learn it," Han questioned.

"Listen here, kid. Unless you have an aptitude for magic you cannot get in the tower and not anyone can become a trainee," she said.

Han nodded and went back to his seat in thought. 'Sophie, how do I learn magic? I want to. I mean I transmigrated to a fantasy world, and it would be stupid if I did not cast a spell. Just imagine me as a future mage. So Cool!' His imagination ran wild imagining himself with a large fire floating on his palms.

[Host, the only clue I can give you is that you should reach level 10 as soon as possible and search the shop]

'Again, with reaching level 10. "When one day I reach it and it does not satisfy me I will be reporting you to your supervisors,' Han thought as he took a bite of his bread aggressively. He ate his breakfast and exited the tavern.

Han stood outside the tavern unwilling to go back to the clinic. 'Since I saw some people at the local market, how about I go there and maybe try some street food? They should have street food, I hope so,' he thought as he walked toward the local market.

Arriving at the market, a few people were holding a paper bag filled with groceries in their hands walking around. Han looked at the various vendors fascinated. He had not seen any type of vegetables or fruits they had in the market. It was completely unknown territory. He also went to some street food vendors and found snacks like pancakes, which the locals call Sironi Cake, and had corn on the cob. Nothing exciting...

Getting tired of the local market and the glares Han kept receiving. Though he seemed to have adapted to the glares. He exited the market hoping to walk back home.

[Host, be alert 2 suspicious men have been following you ever since you exited the Tavern]

Han at once started freaking out and forced himself not to look back. 'W-what do I do?' he thought. He had never experienced anything like this before. 'I think they're after me because of money maybe they saw me giving the bar lady a silver coin,' he thought clicking his tongue, frustrated at himself.

[Host, I have calculated another route for you to the Clinic. Though you might experience 30% more danger through this route].

Han nodded and followed the blue arrow. He speeds walked trying to reach his destination.

After a few minutes. [Host, the 2 men have lost your trail].

Han gasped heavily as he relaxed. He looked at his surroundings realizing he was on an unfamiliar street. He saw various huts and farmlands. 'I really should not let my guard down. I thought I slipped the coin discreetly. It was not enough. I do not know anything anymore let us go back home!' he thought, fed up with the current situation. He did not like staying outdoors that much anyway.

Han continued walking down the street as he followed the blue arrow. More huts and people started appearing as he walked down the street. He was distracted seeing a crowd of people gather.
