Chương 11: Chapter 11 - Whitey's Debute

The registration process took only a few minutes, and to Edward's surprise, he was the only one left. Without wasting any more time, he immediately headed to the stadium, with Cornelio following closely behind him. Cornelio had tried to talk him out of the challenge, but Edward never listened.

"Just give up if things get too heated," Cornelio said, his face dark with concern. He knew that if Edward got hurt and couldn't go back to the store, there would be no excuses.

"Don't worry, Whitey said he can win, and I trust him," Edward replied confidently as he took his position in the stadium and placed Whitey on the floor.

Although much of the crowd had left, there were still many people in the stands watching. They all looked at the small rabbit in confusion, not believing that Edward would challenge the guild with such a small creature.

Edward gave a confident smirk as he saw the doubtful expressions on the faces of the crowd. He knew they would all be surprised by this small rabbit. He was still gazing at the crowd when the same man who had fought in the previous battle got up in the stadium.

"Summon your pets," the man said, two vortexes appearing behind him as he looked at Edward and Whitey.

"This is my pet, I only have him," Edward replied awkwardly, motioning Whitey to go forward.

"A Black Fur Rabbit? Do you think this is a joke?" the man asked, his eyes flashing in rage. This was the first time he had seen someone go up on the guild stage to joke around. "As I said, summon your pet."

Edward sighed as he felt the angry stare, and communicated with Whitey without wasting any more time. "I'm counting on you! Prove them wrong, Whitey!"

The man spat on the ground as he saw the small rabbit going forward. "Don't blame me for what's going to happen then," the guild examiner caressed the back of his Shining Horn Bull and sent it forward. "This is your last chance to stop joking around."

"I wish you good luck as well," Edward replied, letting out a smile and taking two steps back.

Seeing that the man didn't take his advice seriously, the guild examiner quickly shouted, "Light Charge! Take this thing out of the stadium!"

Sensing his master's fury, the eyes of the Shining Horn Bull turned bloodshot as he rushed towards the small rabbit, who stayed still, almost as if the angry bull didn't exist.

Cornelio's face twitched as he saw the rabbit standing still. He thought the small creature was too terrified to move and tried to warn Edward. "Hey! Go save your pet! He's going to die!"

Edward paid no heed to Cornelio's words and closed his eyes, confident that Whitey was calm and unafraid of the approaching bull. "No worries, Whitey is strong, you can count on him," he assured Cornelio.

Whitey remained motionless, waiting until the bull was three meters away before deftly dodging its charge, leaving it bewildered and disorientated. The Guild examiner's eyes widened, amazed at how fast the little rabbit moved. But, being an experienced monster tamer, he quickly ordered his Shining Horn Bull to turn around and charge again.

Unbeknownst to him, Whitey had already anticipated the bull's move and jumped to his belly before the bull could turn around. In a fraction of a second, Whitey moved as fast as a shadow, crossing six meters in the blink of an eye. A dark aura surrounded Whitey's claw as he swiped the bull's hind legs, leaving a bloody wound, before nimbly hopping away to safety once again.

The guild examiner, Cornelio, and the entire crowd were stunned into silence, only snapping out of it when the bull howled in pain. They tried to make sense of what had happened, but nobody could explain how Whitey had injured the Shining Horn Bull.

"Hey! Wake up!" The guild examiner was the first to regain his composure, casting a wary glance at the small black rabbit. "Use Light Armor and keep your distance from him!"

The bull shook its body, trying to endure the pain. The three horns on its head gleamed so brightly that the entire arena was dazzled. Three light orbs formed above the bull's horns as a solid white armor enveloped its body.

Edward was impressed by the power of the bull's skills, not only he had created more light bombs, but even his armor looked sturdier now. " It looks like you finally got serious," he shouted as he gave Whitey an apprehensive gaze as he took two steps back.

The Guild Examiner didn't answer; he was completely focused on the small rabbit in the distance. The previous attack had caught him off guard. However, this time, he wouldn't give the rabbit another chance.

The bull howled angrily as it sent two of the light bombs in Whitey's direction. The crowd, who were now paying more attention to the fight, watched in awe as a black shadow gracefully dodged the two light bombs with no effort. They all stared in disbelief, wondering since when a Black Fur Rabbit had such agility. Yet, this was only the beginning of their amazement.

Whitey's hindlegs contracted in preparation for a long jump, and with a sudden burst of speed, he launched himself towards the bull, his razor-sharp claws glistening in the light of the bull's skill.

"Stop it now! Don't let it get close!" As the Guild Examiner watched the attack, his back was drenched in sweat. It was clear that the rabbit had a complete advantage in close-quarters combat.

The bull shook as it shot the third Light Bomb, aimed directly at the Rabbit, who was flying towards the bull at incredible speed.

Whitey's claw shone with dark energy once more as he sensed the approaching Light Bomb. With a swift swipe, the Light Bomb was cleaved in half, clearing the path to the Bull's head.

The entire audience fell silent as they watched the rabbit's sharp claws cleave the Light Bomb in half. The Guild Examiner fared no better, only being able to stand there frozen as the black shadow clawed at the bull's head.

Whitey's claws sank deep into the bull's head, leaving a trail of torn flesh behind them and even breaking one of the bull's horns.

"I concede the first round!" Seeing the deep wounds on his pet, the guild examiner quickly jolted awake.

The stunned crowd gasped in shock as reality finally kicked in. They all looked at the small rabbit in terror and awe.

"Is that really a Black Fur Rabbit?" one of the audience members blurted out, still stunned by the rabbit's feats.

"I'm curious how the trainer must have raised..."

"Are you dumb? Do you really think that this thing is a Black Fur Rabbit?"

The murmurs of the crowd caused the guild examiner to feel ashamed, but he too agreed with them. After all, a Black Fur Rabbit was just a quasi-monster with an ordinary bloodline.

"What race is your pet? A shapeshifting panther? Or a Dream Stealing Spectre?" He guessed that this was just a disguise the monster used to fool its opponents.

"Well, none of those..." Edward couldn't help but smile. He knew that the man wouldn't believe him even if he revealed Whitey's true race. "So? Are you continuing?"

The guild executive gave Whitey another look and nodded. "I will say that your pet is powerful, but you won't be able to win the next round..." He quickly ordered the Shinning Horn Bull's return and dispatched the Flickering Rose.

The small plant treaded forward clumsily with its roots. Edward found the scene almost too comical as he never expected that the small plant would walk like this. "Are you sure about this? Isn't your Shinning Horn Bull stronger?"

"Well, yes, if you're talking about statistics in general, but statistics aren't everything." The guild examiner's face grew serious as he shouted commands to the small plant. "Rosy! Use deep roots! Show them what you're made of!"

The small plant twisted its twigs around, and the small roots that it used to walk around burrowed deep into the white marble titles. The entire battleground began to shake as gigantic roots suddenly emerged from the ground.

Some of the roots formed a protective shield around the small plant, while others shot out in Whitey's direction. Whitey stood still, surprised by the sudden attack, but quickly regained composure and jumped towards the sky.

Whitey's eyes widened as he realized the roots were still following him. He dodged and weaved through the air, attempting to outmaneuver the tenacious roots, but as he began to descend, he was engulfed by them.
