(I have changed the requirements from 50 dark-gold ranks to fifty gold rank stage 3.)
"Understood, thanks for the info." Thanking the butler, Aurus got up and along with Zaya and Attra, he started to make his way back to his house.
While walking, he opened the task icon and looked at his task requirements.
[8/50 gold rank stage three monsters killed.]
Confirming his first kill, he decided to go back to the next wave the next day. After all, he had two tasks, the first one being about protecting the city and the second one was about killing fifty monsters. Not to mention the mutation tasks of his two contracted beasts.
Indeed it wasn't that important for him to become strong because in the end he was only a store owner and that's what he would be in the future. However, having some strength was always important. Be it for when he was collecting resources or when he was getting around outside of the shop, being strong would never be a bad thing.
Arriving at the shop, he nodded to his employees and went to the second floor.
"Pel, Mel, can you prepare me food please?" Aurus directly asked the two when he arrived on the second floor.
Aurus could cook but honestly, what he cooked was trash compared to their cooking. As such, he more or less abandoned the idea of cooking himself.
"Yes, master. Is there anything you would like to eat or do you leave it to us?" The two little fairies looked at Aurus expectantly. He knew that they liked to cook whatever was on their mind since it allowed them to be creative so he did just that.
"No, you can decide what to cook, I'll be happy with anything." Aurus smiled at them while making his way to the bathroom. He had to take a shower due to all the blood and sweat he had on his body.
After taking a shower, he came to the diner room and was pleasantly surprised to see the cooked food on the table. There was a salad with a steak and a glass of juice. While relatively basic, with the two fairies cooking the food, the dishes were simply amazing.
After eating until he was full, Aurus thanked the two little fairies and went to check on the shop and the dungeon. Currently, his presence was no longer required in the shop. The six former slaves working in the shop knew everything there was to know. They had the skill to explain the necessary resources needed for a specific beast depending on their various injuries and how close they were to evolve. The only thing they couldn't do was tell what were the mutation conditions for the beasts. Anyway, they didn't offer this service in the shop so it didn't matter.
For the shop, there was only a single thing he had to do. He had to collect the resources necessary. However, seeing the reward of the task, the team icon, Aurus believed he would be able to relegate the task of collecting resources to other people.
Aurus was already considering leaving the shop to his employees. The only thing he would need would be six more employees, one for each resource and a manager for the shop. Even if after the beast tide he only kept the shop open for a specific time, he didn't doubt there would be a lot of customers. With six more employees, each one of them would be able to take care of a single element and it would reduce a lot of their workload. As for the manager, it was mostly to make decisions for the shop and make reports to him.
Unknowingly, Aurus was already planning the future of his shops which would spread across the world and across worlds.
Taking a note about finding six more employees and a manager, he went to look at the dungeon. The dungeon was a little different from the shop as it didn't need many employees, just Amuna alone was able to take care of the dungeon. However, on the other hand, it needed a lot of resources or more precisely, more dungeon cores to develop the dungeon.
Taking a note about getting more dungeon cores, Aurus thought back about his first goal to make multiple shops in this world, in the various kingdoms. While the shop was completely fine as he could simply buy a building and create more, the dungeon would be a problem. Creating it was easy as well but getting the dungeon cores would be a big problem. There was a limit to how many dungeons he could subjugate as he would easily need hundreds of dungeon cores in the future.
'Oh well, I will find a solution at that time.' Currently, his first objective was to make the shop and dungeon run independently from him. This way, he would be free to do what he wanted.
At night, he went back to the other world and finally subjugated the last dungeon in the surroundings. That day, when he came back with the last dungeon core, signifying its subjugation, all of the adventurers cheered.
Although having all of the dungeons in the surroundings subjugated meant that there would be fewer monsters in the surroundings, the adventurers were truly happy. The reason they fought in the dungeon and the monsters was because they wanted to protect their family. With no dungeons left, it meant that there would be fewer monsters in the surroundings and the city was a lot safer. It would also be safer for merchants which would promote the economy of the city. Overall, it was a good thing for them, especially since all of the dungeons had a lot of resources to collect and they didn't have to be scared of having any job.
Aurus then stopped at the slave merchant and hearing there were no new slaves, he turned around. Having confirmed that there was nothing more for him to do in this city, he decided that the next time he came in this world, he would make his way to the capital of the kingdom. This way, he would be able to promote to a B rank adventurer. In addition, there would be more slaves which could probably be bought as employees and as a manager of his shop and finally, there should be some stronger dungeons in the surroundings as well.
Looking at the time, he said goodbye to the various guild workers and the guild master of the adventurer's guild and he made his way to the outside of the city. At this time, Aurus forcefully made his way back to the shop.
After having the symptoms he always had when he came back, Aurus went to the last floor of the dungeon. "Amuna, I have another dungeon core. Will it be useful for the dungeon?" Aurus asked after seeing her.
"No, this dungeon core is just like the others and has a very minimal effect on this dungeon. I would recommend that you keep it if you want to create another dungeon in the future." Amuna answered him while shaking her head slightly.
Nodding his head in understanding, Aurus continued the conversation. "So, how are you doing? Are you satisfied or is there anything you would like to change?" Aurus was worrying whether she was happy with her new life. It was indeed true that he cared more about her than for the others.
"Oh, it's great! I don't have to worry about being attacked every day and I can do whatever I want most of the time. The only sad part is that I can't do variations to the dungeon, like in the past." As she answered him while crossing her arms in front of her chest.
Aurus thought for a little while and was indeed a little happy. After all, he had been planning on creating more shops and dungeons in the various kingdoms. Amuna saying she was a little bored on not being able to develop the dungeon as she liked was exactly what he needed in this situation.
"Well Amuna, I was planning on creating more dungeons in the future. So, at that time I'll ask for your help alright?" As Aurus told her with a smile, her originally depressed expression changed into one of excitation.
While it was true that she loved to take care of her small garden and her flowers at her home, she also liked to be creative in the dungeon. So, his words of offering her a new dungeon to build were indeed interesting. After all, in her opinion, creating a dungeon was a lot more interesting than just taking care of it after the initial development.
"Yes, of course! It will be my pleasure to take care of the future dungeon!" Aurus could see the eagerness in her expression as she answered him.
"Well, alright. When it is time to create another dungeon I will come to you. It should be within the next month." Finishing saying what he needed, Aurus went back upstairs.
Feeding both Zaya and Attra, he went to his room where he petted both contracted beasts before going to bed. The next wave would be coming the next day and he had to be prepared for it.
Have a great day!
