Chương 2: meet Weir

Weir was running... for his life… again.

His dad (Walter) would not be happy!

He thought this as he narrowly escaped, saw a deer caught it, killed it and ran home. To add it to the stew with the carrots, onions and mushrooms that his mum was making for the pack.

Straight away circling three times and flopping down on his bed when he got in, but jumping right back up when Willow bit him and growled "this bed's taken" "Willow off" barked weir "make me" said Willow sticking out her tongue "ok" said Weir growling and baring his teeth. "oh" whimpered Willow then crawling away.

"finally" sighed Weir just closing his eyes as dad came in and said "quit lazing around Weir and get some wood we're getting low…Now!"

"yea-ow!" yelped "Weir I guess that that bear got me after all" "what? You were bitten by a bear?!" said Walter "wellll… I don't know but it hurts a lot!... is it bad?" said Weir "bad? It's awful you'll have to show Grim" said Walter "o…ok" gulped Weir.

2 minutes later Grim was muttering (now where did I put dem bandages?) and cursing.

3 minutes later he'd found them (after a lot more cursing) and bandaged Weir up just as the Pack was all called for dinner, Grim speed limped there and Weir slowly limped there.

And as usual Willow and Wisker were fighting over a spot, they both wanted to sit next to Weir and neither of them wanted to sit next to Dad, so he told them to do Rock, Spear, Hide, they did, Wisker won. So that meant that Weir had to listen to his chatter about what he'd done with Max monkey that day and as usual that bored Weir until he heard Wisker say that he'd seen a sign saying "the One that would get the Key out of the Pond of Memories" and it said "are you looking for adventure? Then you could be the One! - Wouldn't that be great?" so Weir asked if Wisker could get it for him and Wisker nearly fell off his chair because he knew that Weir never listened to him! So he said "yes-yes-yes I won't let you down Weir!" and Walter asked "Wisker why are you so excited all of a sudden?" so Wisker said "Weir asked me to get him something… ooo Weir can you come?"

"uh… yeah why not as long as I'm not needed at home tomorrow… am I?" said Weir "hmm well I don't need you, Grim won't need you and I don't know if Wendy needs you so yeah you can go unless Wendy needs you" said Walter "thanks Dad… will you want me to bring anything home when I get back?" said Weir "hmm…no you just go and have some fun" said Walter "thanks Dad" said weir

(while all that was going on the Key had found the One, who was quite furry)
