Minato sat atop a tall building, the windows beneath him glittering like stars as they reflected the sun back out towards the city.
The sun peeked over the horizon, turning the sky a beautiful orange blue mix.
The city was, well it was beautiful but wrong. Filled to the brim with people, too overcrowded. Hundreds of thousands of people must live here.
That was an insane number for one vill-city.
He blinked, his mind kept referring to cities as villages. He still doesn't fully understand himself. He's gotten one memory back, and that was from when he was young.
It suggests that he was a ninja, that he is a ninja.
Thinking of the memory led him onto the battle, it was…it was weird.
He could fight, his speed was absolutely incredible, his reflexes more so. His body moved on its own, the muscle memory so ingrained it felt natural to dodge blasts of fire.
His hand brushed through his bright hair and he laid back against the building, he eyed the blue sky and just started to think.
Think about where he was, think about where he used to be, think about himself and who he used to be.
His eyes reflected the bright blue of the sky as he pondered. Pondered his ability, his life and his future.
He heard the roaring sound from one of those flying machines, multiple had gone past already. Giant metal contraptions that could fly.
Fascinated, Minato turned to see another one but got a far closer look than expected. A large black jet, slowly landed atop the building, the wind blew his hair madly as he eyed the odd machine.
It landed with a thud, the roaring loud engines turned off, allowing him to at least hear himself think.
The jet doors opened with a woosh, Minato's eyes were fixed on the mechanical marvel as three silhouettes were revealed in their entirety.
A bald man in some sort of floating chair eyed him, a tall man with a red visor over his eyes stood beside the bald man.
A white haired woman stood to the bald man's other side, her hair blowing in the winds as they all eyed the sitting Minato.
His white cloak sat heavy on his shoulders, his head turned and his eyes focused on the approaching trio.
The blonde man blinked and stood, not too fast. He didn't want to startle the trio, he turned to face the men and woman. He took a few steps forward and came to a stop when he noticed the man with the visor tense.
"You are?" Minato's voice was calm, one thing he had realised was that he could trust his body, his instincts.
He didn't have his memories back yet, but his body did. It remembers every ounce of fighting he had ever come across.
The bald man gave him a small smile "I am Charles Xavier, to my left is Cyclops and to my right is Storm" he said gently.
As if he was dealing with a rabid animal.
Minato didn't like that, but he took the cue.
"My name is Minato Namikaze" he said with a brief slight bow of his head, his eyes still fixed on their forms.
Charles bowed his head in return "I am here, to warn you" he said with a hint of worry in his tone.
Minato hummed "Warn me?" He inquired.
"Yes, I'm afraid you have quite…angered a rather deadly man, you would have seen him last night." Charles said as he eyed the blonde man. "His name is Magneto, I assume you've heard of him?"
Minato slowly shook his head in the negative "Never" he said.
He would explain why he hasn't heard of such a clearly notorious figure, but he didn't simply give away such information free of cost to strangers.
Charles looked surprised and then appeared to think for a moment, Cyclop's jaw clenched in annoyance.
He clearly wasn't a fan.
"He was the one in red, he is particularly powerful." Charles said with a grave tone. "We could shelter you? Magneto is a threat to the world at large, if he focused entirely on you alone…I'm afraid you wouldn't survive" he said with a tone of remorse and guilt in his tone.
Cyclops definitely didn't like that idea going by the clenching of his fists.
Minato shook his head in the negative "Shelter me, that wouldn't be necessary." Flashes of sudden memories shot through his mind.
A white haired older man, red lines running down his face.
A ball of blue surging energy building and crackling in his outstretched palm.
He blinked at the sudden imagery and hid a wince at the stabbing pain, he cleared his throat, hoping his discomfort wasn't too noticeable.
Xavier looked concerned as he eyed Minato "May I enquire why you will not need shelter?" He did seem to be genuine.
Minato straightened "No, but just know that I will be fine" Minato said with a calm smile, he wasn't purposely dismissive but simply not trusting these people.
He already swore his loyalty to his village, though he can't even remember its accursed name.
He would not so quickly jump into some other alliance's bed without knowing them and their intentions thoroughly.
Cyclops brow twitched, the man wasn't happy at all, barely holding himself back from speaking.
Storm however was silent, though signs of annoyance and frustration peeked through her facade.
Xavier simply nodded "Be warned, Magento has levelled cities for less than what you've done" he said in a grave, cautious tone.
Minato blinked "What I've done?" He repeated back to the bald man who furrowed his brow in confusion.
"What you've done?" Cyclops spat out, "You damn near killed his son" he bared his teeth like an animal as Minato looked at the man.
"Cyclops" Xavier reprimanded gently, the man was stepping out of line. Xavier opened his mouth to speak once more but Minato got there first.
"The silver one?" He said with curiosity openly present on his face.
Cyclops almost growled, he was a teenager, a kid, not the silver one!
Xavier heard the thoughts of Cyclops and had to admit the attitude of this man was quite…cold.
"His name is Pietro!" Cyclops growled like a beast, Minato's eyes slowly panned to the man, his large muscles tensing underneath the skin tight suit.
Minato hummed "Were you not, on the other side in battle?" He thought he remembered seeing this man at the battle, he definitely remembered seeing the woman and bald one.
"You couldn't hold back?" Cyclops said with simmering anger, ignoring Minato's question "He was just a kid!" he would have continued had an authoritative voice not cut in.
"Scott, enough" the woman cut in, her voice sharp as she reminded Scott why they were here in the first place.
Cyclops clenched his jaw, and briefly looked down at the ground before nodding towards the woman who gave him a small smile.
She knew why this frustrated him so, she had to admit she wasn't exactly happy either.
Storm turned her eyes back to Minato "Magento has lost much, he won't hesitate to tear down this whole city to simply see you bleed" her voice was serious as she stared into Minato's blue eyes trying to let him see the seriousness of this situation.
"We are even placing ourselves in danger by simply speaking to you, when it comes to his family…Magneto doesn't stop, he won't stop." Xavier said with deadly seriousness.
Minato nodded "I understand where you are coming from" he also understood where Magneto was coming from, if anyone threatened his son-
His hands shot to his head, his mind felt like it was screaming, clawing for release as he desperately tried to hold onto an escaping memory.
The memory of an infant, golden tufts of hair atop his head.
He gasped, his knees buckling under the weight of the memory, sending him crashing into his knees.
The world felt like it was spinning harshly as he struggled to steady himself, the name of the boy—of his son dragged itself up his throat like a spectre of the ancient past.
"Naruto" he whispered hoarsely, the word falling from his lips as if torn from some long forgotten dark corner of his mind.
