Chương 19: PAGE 19: OBSTACLE RACE- JUST ONE STEP AWAY
With the buzzer being sounded, the students immediately rushed through the gate which had the adverse effect as it got congested. Shoto Todoroki was the first to break free as he used his ice to freeze the ground while walking. Many were unable to move due to this but the 1A students were next to break free thus leading to a chain effect as others also got free but the hope they got was suddenly crushed when the same robots from the entrance exam appeared with the 0-pointer being among, but this irked Todoroki as they were too weak for him.He immediately iced them as he moved on, the others were glad as they believed he opened up a path for them but how wrong they were when the robots came crashing down, with that Shoto Todoroki had taken the lead.
Yet again, the 1A students were the first to react as they began using their quirks in unexpected ways to get through, President Mic praised them but then he noticed something, a lone boy could still be seen at the entrance; he had silver curly hair and dark lines could be seen covering his face; this was none other but Kazuya Mitsui. Seeing him, Mic did his job as he said "oh Kazuya of class1A hasn't moved yet, WHAT'S HE WAITIGN FOR!?" This surprised the on-lookers as they turned their eyes to Kazuya and began murmuring, but Kazuya still didn't move an inch. The crowd wanted to talk but they refocused on the race as they heard mic shout "IF YOU THOUGHT THE FIRST STAGE WAS A CINCH, THEN WHAT WILL YOU THINK OF THIS…WE CALL IT 'THE FALL!'"
Hearing this everyone refocused on the students trying to get through. Kazuya was still unmoving with his eyes closed as he recalled the training he underwent with Keiko. ----FLASHBACK----
The following day, Kazuya headed out and did as he was told by his aunt. Firstly, he used his grounding ability and gathered a huge mass of ground together until it formed a huge orb after he was done, he removed his shirt as he began using almighty push not with the intent to push it back but this time to repel the ground from each other, so he was not using pushing force but rather repelling force. Each day he repeated the same exercise as he used his 'almighty push' to exhaustion but after a whole week he didn't make any progress. This brought fear into his heart as he imagined himself missing the sports festival which is something that won't help him in his journey of becoming a hero. So the following day, he decided to sit down and think about the problem. He asked himself 'what's wrong, why am I not able to change it in anyway' he tried thinking of the problem and its solution but it was all for naught as he never found the answer but he didn't give up. Keiko was passing by and noticed Kazuya in the backyard, through her quirk, she found out the problem and smiled as she thought 'he's not giving up, that's admirable, well let me help him' as she moved closer to him but stopped when she heard 'yes that's it, I'm not using my imagination right, I'm supposed to…' Keiko smiled as she looked at the blue sky and muttered "your son is growing up well, Yui-nee" The following day, Kazuya was finally able to separate a piece and by the end of the day he was able to separate it completely. The remaining days, he kept honing this ability and on the very last day, 3 huge stones stood before him. His eyes were closed, breathing even and had a stoic expression adorning his face, then he opened his eyes and shouted "ALMIGHTY PUSH" immediately an unrecognizably strong force went forth and completely destroyed the three huge stones while also destroying many trees in the area.
At the end of this, Kazuya could be seen in the middle of a complete desert, no trees could be seen, only the pillar which Kazuya stood on. Kazuya smiled at this as he said to himself 'I'm ready'
---FLASHBACK END--
Kazuya returned to reality and noticed president Mic was talking about the final stage of the race and immediately he opened his eyes and flew past everyone. All the people could see was a blue silhouette passing by them, this shocked many but when those of 1A saw this, they were even more shocked as most thought 'he got even stronger!'
Meanwhile Kazuya was coming, Midoriya had put his master plan to action and now he was up in the air as the blast increased his velocity, this surprised the whole crowd and just a second later, he overtook both Todoroki and Katsuki. Midoriya was surprised by this but then he was brought out of his stupor by Katsuki who shouted "DEKU, DON'T YOU DARE GO AHEAD OF ME" Todoroki soon got closer, now it was Bakugo and Todoroki on the ground with Midoriya in the air. At the most unpredictable moment, Midoriya hit the scrap of metal on his hand to the ground thus causing an explosion and propelling him yet again.
He then landed and just when he was about to step foot into the stadium, the greatest setup happened, Kazuya appeared out of nowhere and flew past him, president Mic who was announcing changed what he was about to say "THE MAN WHO HAS RETURNED TO THE STADIUM IN TRUIMPH IS NONE OTHER THAN…IZU… KAZUYA MITSUI!! HOW DID HE DO THAT!?"
There's silence in the whole stadium only for there to be an uproar as Kazuya raises his hand with a stoic face. Midoriya steps in a moment later and the surprise in his eyes couldn't be hidden as he looked at Kazuya with wide eyes and remembered 'I was just one step away', moments later Katsuki and Todoroki stepped in. Katsuki was frustrated as he lost to not only to Midoriya but Kazuya again; Todoroki was surprised as he realized he misjudged Kazuya. The rest who came along just couldn't understand what happen, he was the last to move but he won 1st place, just how fast was he?
Midnight soon steps into the ring and announces the rankings and Kazuya notices Setsuna is among those who survive but his expression didn't change one bit.

Enz12_God For those who have forgotten, Kazuya won Bakugo in a race at the quirk apprehension test so that's why. Had to do it like this so it could be more epic.
