Chương 7: Chapter 7 : A Grumpy Admin
Rei was overwhelmed; he had found someone else who was in the same situation as him and Asuka.
"I'll be right back, don't move," he shouted as he left.
Rei went to find Asuna, who was picking flowers in the garden. She didn't understand the urgency of her friend, but followed him without asking any questions.
Upon reaching the silver-haired girl, the three young people looked at each other, their virtual avatars reflecting the surprise on their faces. Rei, always reserved, broke the silence.
"This is Tosako, a girl from Earth just like us."
Asuka nodded, perplexed.
"The admin really has a flair for the dramatic. Or maybe he's just trying to disorient us even more."
Tosako, on the other hand, bounced from one foot to the other, seemingly undisturbed by the unusual situation.
"Anyway, I'm glad to meet you, friends! It would have been boring to wander around this huge game alone."
Rei smiled slightly, appreciating Tosako's lively presence.
"Maybe we should try to understand why we're here. The admin must have had a reason to bring us together."
Tosako began to narrate how she ended up in this game.
"I've been playing Elemental Ruins since it was released, but I never finished the game. A few months ago, as I was playing the game peacefully, strolling in my favorite forest, talking to my friends Tresh and Poash—two slimes I had adopted—a light kidnapped me, and an old man told me that I had to finish the game instead of staying in the same place all the time. When I woke up, I was here."
Rei and Asuka looked at each other; Tosako's story was truly unique, and she seemed innocent, almost childlike.
The three friends set out, wandering through the virtual corridors of the academy. The classrooms seemed empty, and the corridors echoed with an ethereal silence. However, excitement lingered in the air.
Turning a corner, they discovered a special virtual reality room. An admin hologram appeared, its digital face expressing a slight mockery.
"Welcome, my favorite players! I thought it would be fun to gather you here for a special quest. You three, together, can accomplish amazing things."
Asuka crossed her arms, a smirk on her face.
"What's stopping me from jumping on the old man?"
Rei whispered something to her.
"For now, let's stay calm. Once we're well-prepared, we'll make him regret it."
The admin scratched his virtual head. "I have a small request for you."
"What now?" Rei asked.
"Well, let's say you have to solve a series of puzzles scattered throughout the academy. Nothing too difficult, but I want to see how well you work as a team."
Tosako jumped with enthusiasm. Rei and Asuka grumbled incomprehensible words.
"This sounds fun! Let's go, show him what we're capable of!"
The friends embarked on the virtual academy, determined to face the challenge ahead. Amidst laughter, puzzles, and unexpected discoveries, their bond strengthened. The academy might be just a step, but their adventure in this digital world was only beginning.
