CHAPTER 31: AN UNFORTUNATE DESTINATION
Noctis regained his sight as he looked around. He found himself on a barren mountain still holding Faye's hand. His eyes widened at what was laying out in front of him.
He sighed "Well this is rather unfortunate."
Faye looked as her eyes widened she could barely process what was in front of her. Noctis saw Faye's reaction and could not help but agree what appeared before them was nothing but blurry afterimages at least of the swords of the two women facing off.
Noctis looked at the fight happening and saw three similar women who appeared damged off to the side as one teenage girl was off near them by a rock. Noctis sighed as he recognized what world they were put in and he knew he would have no choice but to either rely on his Katana and Seraph form or get stronger in some other way quickly.
Noctis looked at Faye with a serious expression "Faye stand next to the girl and do not move from that spot. Even if I get into trouble."
Faye's eyes immediately wanted to fight back as she wanted to disobey him completely however when she looked up into his eyes she saw his own staring into her. Faye simply nodded as she started walk around the large battle that was being done by the duo who were fighting. One had purple skin and yellow eyes and seemed to be more of a demon then a person. The person they were fighting looked like a porcelain doll besides her own yellow cat like eyes.
Even with Noctis being far weaker then the duo fighting he could tell the one who had porcelain skin was not even breaking a sweat. She did have a small cut on her forehead but that was all. Meanwhile the one who looked more like a demon appeared to have cuts all around her body.
Noctis sighed as his katana appeared from his storage to his side. He took off his mask as well putting it in the storage along with all his other equipment. Besides his normal clothes and his Katana he was completely bare of everything else. He groaned in annoyance and frustration 'To think I would end up here. I should have sent Faye back to Goblin Slayer or even let her stay in Konosuba. Certain power levels might be higher in Konosuba but the sheer raw ability of this world is too high for us at our current level.'
The three other blondes on the other side of the battlefield were also curious about Noctis and Faye. They watched as Faye stood next to the young brunette girl. They then looked back to Noctis who seemed to be different then how he looked a second ago. Almost like his gear around him had changed. They thought he was human but he had a different smell to him that was unlike any aura they had ever felt before.
Noctis sighed as he mentally prepared himself. He grabbed onto his Katana and could immediately feel Krul assault his mind trying to take over. He screamed in pain from the mental pressure but no one moved to assist him or see if he was alright. Even Faye who every fiber of her being told her to help Noctis stayed rooted in her spot. In the end she had to believe in him.
Noctis's will refused to let Krul take over as a small trail of blood seemed to come out of his right eye. He screamed as if he was fighting and charging into a final battle. Everyone stared in shock or interest besides the two who were still currently fighting in the middle and then brunette girl who had her eyes follow the porcelain doll who was fighting the purple skinned demon.
The screaming then stopped at the same time the fight between the two seemed to be getting closer to the end. The purple skinned woman crashed against a rock bleeding from here shoulders as the blonde woman she was fighting held her sword pointed at the demon. At the same time Noctis had one eye which was completely black and a intricate branch of black coming out of his left shoulder. It sounded as if trumpets were playing as well.
Noctis gave a slight smile "Sorry Krul it seems you lost again."
He then watched what happened between the duo next. The blonde woman who had the upper hand looked down on her opponent "I'll say this now while you can still heed human speech. You should understand now. Suppress your Yoma aura quickly and revert back to being human. Do it now and you can still make it. It'll be too late if you reach the point of no return."
The purple demon seemed to shake slightly "Give back my daddy. My daddy was so kind. I loved him so much. And he ate them. Hey are everytime d innards right before my eyes."
The purple demon then in rage jumped up and slashed down with her sword trying to fight back. She spoke again "That's why I killed him. While he was eating my big sister I cut off my daddy's head."
The purple demon then dropped her sword and began to shake violently.
The blond who looked slightly like an elf from the side had her eyes widen "She just went past her limit."
The purple demon in a croaky disembodied voice sadly said "I…I can't make it to go back. Help me. Please. I don't want to become a Yoma. Please help me."
The blonde woman she was fighting seemed to relax and her eyes reverted from a cat like yellow to a cool silver. "I'm sorry it's no longer in my power to help you. About all I can do is to cut off your head before you become a Yoma."
The demon looked up sad but put its head down in resignation as tears pooled in its eyes "Please…. Kill me. While some vestige of my heart is still human."
The blonde woman looked down at the person she was just fighting with sympathy "All right. I'll make sure you don't suffer."
However in this moment of weakness. No more in this moment of compassion shown by the porcelain doll like blonde the purple demon grabbed back onto her sword and with a swift motion cut off both of the blondes hands. Even though her hands were cut off they gripped the sword tightly as they went by Faye and the young brunette girl.
In the next moment the purple demon charged at the blonde intended on cutting her head off but was stopped by a katana. The purple demons eyes widened as she could not budge against the sword. She looked at the person blocking her to see a man with a full black eye staring into her soul.
Noctis smiled as he blocked the attack. He then turned to the blonde who was missing both her hands making a tsk tsk sound as if reprimanding a student "Teresa you should know better than to let your guard down especially when someone might be an Awakened."
Teresa's eyes widened in shock but she immediately regained her composure. Noctis continued to drive the point home "What would have happened to Clare if you were to have died?"
Teresa frowned but not at Noctis at her own humanity. After taking in Clare and caring for her she had lost her edge a bit. She even wanted to kill Priscilla back at the town but she did not want Clare to witness it. She frowned at herself for not being callous enough like she would normally be. She then looked at Noctis in curiosity. 'Who could he possibly be. She should be dead yet she was alive.'
Noctis face went neutral as he lost his slight smile "Well it seems you at least understand a tiny bit of your error. Go and reattach your hands. I'll take care of Priscilla here."
In the next moment before Teresa could even respond. Noctis flashed to the side of Priscilla and cleanly cut her head off. Noctis did not stop there however he wanted to be certain so as the head was falling in the air he slashed at it until nothing but a large amount of blood and brain matter sprayed the ground red. He nodded "Luckily she was not fully awakened yet."
He looked over to the other three to the side "I'm sure even for Claymores you three have had enough for today. Isn't that right Irene, Noel, and Sophia. Unless you would like to end up as Priscilla did."
He then continued as he pointed his sword at the three "I suggest you three go and recover and tell the men in black about what happened and how they almost caused another awakened because they tried to take down Teresa."
Irene nodded "We will leave for now."
She then looked towards Teresa who easily reconnected her arms with the help of Clare and Faye holding it together for her. Irene have a slight frown "We will come back for you Teresa at some point."
Noctis then watched as they left. Once he saw they were completely gone and most likely too far away to come back quickly enough he sheathed his Katana. He immediately coughed out a mouthful of blood Faye came running over and held him up before he fell over. Faye was worried but Noctis immediately said "Make sure those two stay around. Teresa owes me after all."
He then lost consciousness as his eyes shut. Faye was worried but she dragged him over to the other two. Teresa saw the worrried look on Faye's face "Don't worry we will not be going anytime soon. I have questions for him as well."
Clare nodded "He also saved Teresa's life."
Faye smiled looking at the two "Don't worry he won't die yet. ( she then gave a "sweet" smile) I have questions for him as well."
