CHAPTER 25: A Green and Red War
(A/N I noticed I was saying Goblin King I meant Goblin Lord sorry about the mistake. Also thanks for all the support yesterday I really appreciate it. I'm feeling better today. Also I figured out world 3 it's not log horizon or danmachi as I want to touch those two towards the end of this fanfic. I got heavy inspiration from rewatching an old anime. Anyways give me powerstones please.)
In the middle of the night the only thing that lit up the farm were torches and the green and red moon in the sky with the stars. A horn blared through the open grass field where farm animals would usually stand but now it was just a barren battleground. The goblins slowly started to come out of the forest numbering at least two hundred with a line of women on large planks to block their front line. All of them gagged and bloodied stripped naked and tied to the plank.
A group of low rank adventurers started to run away from the frontline. The goblins cheered as they thought their strategy worked. The goblins charged in confidently and recklessly thanks to the plan. When they jumped up across a little gap that's when Noctis whistled causing everyone who was lying in wait on the other side to stand with their pikes as each goblin got skewered.
The archers on the roof of the farmhouse then fired causing the goblins who were carrying the naked women on planks to drop. Many adventurers then went in to rescue the women. They pulled them back to a safe location as the fight started.
Like Cavalry twenty goblins started to charge in as they were riding wolves. Noctis was sitting on top of the farmhouse next to Faye still waiting for an interesting opponent to appear. He watched as Gilgamesh, Guts, Saber, Dain, Krox, and the Amazonian woman whose name was Diana as well as the other random adventures took on the goblins and the new cavalry.
Faye kept firing arrows hitting every target "Noctis should you not be helping down there?"
He shrugged "They are managing it well. Only idiots would die to goblins in this situation. We have fifty adventurers here. Four mages. Six Archers. Ten adventurers in Silver rank or higher. They are use to fighting low class dragons. The only ones you need to worry about our the over confident."
Everyone then watched as a human body rag dolled through the air and crashed against a tree turning it red with a mist of blood. Out of the woods then came three Goblin Champions one with an Axe, one with a club, then one with a mace and chain.
Noctis looked over in anger but chuckled "I guess it's time for the big boys to handle things."
Noctis ran out to the battlefield with his Axe at his side. He ran until he stood next to Gilgamesh, Guts and Saber.
They lined up with the Goblin Champions. Noctis smirked "So whose picking which one they want to fight."
Guts looked around and smiled at the Champion with the club "Saber an I will handle the club."
Gilgamesh smirked "Perfect I'll handle the one with the chain."
Noctis nodded "I was hoping I could get the one with the axe."
They walked to their perspective opponents. The champions surprisingly did the same. Noctis lost track of how far the others were as he was excited to fight the Champion with a bit more control over himself knowing that his friends were safe.
He pulled out his axe as he twirled it around looking at the Goblin Champion.
The Champion slammed his axe down on Noctis's figure, but it was surprised when it hit nothing. Noctis appeared a couple steps to the left of the attack.
The Goblin Champion stared at noctis before roaring in his face. Some spit got on Noctis's face. He wiped it off with his hand "I really fucking hate goblins."
Noctis started to run around the Goblin Champion in a circle as he started to throw his knives aiming for one of its eyes. However, his knives were blocked by the Goblin Champions axe. Since the axe was so large it obstructed the Champion's face. Noctis seeing this ran in a straight line towards it. The champion moving its axe noticed that Noctis was not in the same spot as he once was. It looked down but it was already too late. Noctis swung his axe like a baseball bat right in the middle of the Champions achilles. He easily cut the tendon in half causing the champion to take a knee with the lack of support it now had.
Noctis not wanting to give it a chance went towards the other leg that was still supporting it and cut that tendon in half as well. The champion feel face firs into the dirt. The Champion then slowly looked back up.
Noctis appeared back in front of its face "I would be surprised as well."
Noctis then brought his axe up as he slammed it down on the Goblins head causing it to crack open and its brains to spill out. Noctis looked over and saw the others were still fighting but looked like they needed little help. He sighed "Looks like mine was the weakest one. It makes sense that axe was far too big."
Noctis put his axe away and relaxed as he felt a tiny bit of exhaustion. "Looks like I need to build up some stamina."
He scratched his head as he looked around "Should I help Goblin Slayer, or no? Maybe I should just go watch just in case."
In the forest
Ruri was waiting in the tree line as Goblin Slayer went toe to toe with the Goblin Lord. She watched as they went back and forth.
Goblin Slayer was losing but it was more on purpose he wanted to lure the Goblin Lord into a false sense of security. His sword broke but he still stabbed the Goblin Lord with a broken sword and hilt.
The Goblin Lord had a busted nose and was slightly bleeding from its abdomen but Goblin Slayer was down on the floor. Two Protection spells were then chanted. However quite differently then they would normally be used. The spells were currently crushing the Goblin Lord from in front of it and behind it.
Ruri came out as she was the one casting protections "I still don't feel good about using God's gift of magic like this."
The Goblin Lord looked down at Ruri he began to let tears fall as he surprisingly spoke "I'm sorry. Please let me go I promise never to come near a village again."
The Goblin Lord smiled as Ruri was quiet and seemed to be contemplating but she was just waiting for someone else. Goblin Slayer slowly rose "Like hell that's going to happen."
The Goblin Lord's smirked turned into a frown. They then heard a man laughing. The laughter started to slowly come closer. The Goblin Lord frowned even further when he saw the new elf come forward.
Noctis was the one laughing as he came closer. "I'm so happy I made it in time for the fun."
Goblin Slayer nodded "I'm going to kill it quick."
Noctis put up his hand "Now hold on. This is the most intelligent Goblin I have ever seen. It even talks. This could be fun. How about we torture it a bit."
Goblin Slayer shook his head "Let's just end it no loose ends."
Noctis tilted his head "Slow down. I'm sure it understands torture. Gilgamesh has a spear let me grab it and shove it up and down it's ass. I'm sure it did that with it's own spear multiple times with village girls. I bet the fucker is trying to escape to its base where it has more female slaves. It will probably try to rebuild its army."
Ruri sighed "We should see if we can save more people."
Goblin Slayer shook it head "Unnecessary. I already tracked them to the cave. I was planning on cleaning it out after."
Noctis sighed "Fine it's your precious home that was about to be invaded anyways."
Noctis walked over and tapped the Goblin Lord on its face a couple times like in the Italian mob movies from his last life. "Well looks like you get the easy way out. Consider yourself lucky."
He then leaned in close as his eyes appeared to be a void with no soul or reflection "I'll make sure that every goblin in this world joins you in hell. Maybe you can all have your kind of "fun" with each other."
He then watched as Goblin Slayer picked up his broken sword and stabbed it through the Goblin Lord's neck as it slowly died choking on its own blood.
Goblin Slayer was about to fall over with the Goblin Lord but Noctis caught him. "Here Ruri hold him for a minute."
Ruri came over and held Goblin Slayer up as Noctis brought out his war axe and decapitated the Goblin Lord. He shrugged as the duo looked at him "I was just making sure."
He then took back Goblin Slayer and helped him walk "Come on let's get you home."
