With jaws clenched, and palms fisted, Karina walked out of the house and continued walking toward the gate. Her emotions had gone haywire, but she was still trying to keep them in.
"Rina, wait," She could hear Nori calling out to her, but she didn't stop. She couldn't. She just wanted to keep walking, hoping that would lessen the way she was feeling, and the heavy burden in her heart.
"Where are you going?" The question flew out of Nori's lips and went right into Karina's head, making her halt.
The worry in Nori's voice got to her, but something else occurred to her. They were just rescued from a rather unpleasant situation, so going outside, which was her initial intention, may get them into trouble again as she was sure Nori would follow her.
She was already close to the gate when she had this realization, but she didn't want to turn back or even stop walking. So her eyes darted around and she spotted a gazebo close to the gate.
The side story is out come and read.
