"You should be searching for the Cosmic Cube instead of invading my database!" Nick Fury's face showed an angry expression. Stark pointed to the nearby equipment and said in a low voice, "Once the progress bar is complete, we can locate the Cube. Can we talk about this so-called Phase Two research in the meantime?"
Steve pushed the door open and threw the energy weapon on the ground, speaking with a stern tone, "Phase Two is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s research on weapons using the Cosmic Cube!"
Nick Fury looked at Steve's skeptical gaze, feeling a sinking feeling in his heart. Just as he was about to come up with some lies to deceive them, he saw Stark flipping through the research blueprints of S.H.I.E.L.D. At that moment, Natasha entered the lab with Thor and said to Banner in a solemn voice, "You should stay away from here, Doctor!"
Banner felt that his good intentions were being treated with disrespect and spoke in a displeased tone, "It was you who invited me here in the first place!"
"Loki wants to manipulate you," Natasha walked slowly towards Banner, her gaze becoming sharp. Banner, filled with anger, smirked in response, "Aren't you all the same? Now you should explain why you are researching these weapons!"
Infected by the tense atmosphere in the room, Nick Fury pointed at Thor, his voice filled with anger, "Because of him! In order to be able to hold our heads high in front of aliens in the future, I had to take the risk and research energy weapons!"
Just as the argument between them escalated, Hawkeye arrived on a Quinjet by the side of the aircraft carrier and launched an arrow towards the lower part of Engine 3, causing a violent explosion that sent everyone in the lab flying. Banner could no longer control his emotions and began to transform into the Hulk.
Falling together with him, Natasha quickly tried to calm him down. The Hulk, who rarely had such opportunities, refused to give up this chance. In his transformed state, he remembered Natasha's earlier sarcasm and roared angrily, charging towards her to vent his anger.
The two chased and fled within the aircraft carrier, causing significant damage to the buildings. Just as the Hulk was about to step on Natasha, Thor arrived in time and knocked him away. The two engaged in a fight, matching blow for blow fueled by their rage.
Knowing the danger posed by the Hulk, Nick Fury ordered a fighter jet to divert its firepower. The pilot, watching the two fight through the glass window, quickly pulled the trigger to assist Thor.
The enraged Hulk charged towards the fighter jet, leaped onto its back, and delivered a powerful blow. He casually grabbed the ejected pilot and threw him into the distance, then descended together with the fighter jet.
Coulson arrived at the armory, verified his identity, and picked up one of the energy weapons, preparing to go to the prison to guard Loki. Several members of the special forces team barged into the command room but were eliminated by Nick Fury and his team.
Hawkeye took the opportunity to use arrows to disrupt the systems of the aircraft carrier, causing Engine 1 to shut down. With two engines out in the same direction, the aircraft carrier started to tilt.
After repelling Hawkeye, Nick Fury pressed his communicator and shouted loudly, "Yihu, hurry and support Stark and the others!"
Listening to the sound of gunfire coming from Steve's side, Yihu sneered and calmly walked towards Engine 3. Hill used the communicator to inform everyone that Hawkeye was heading to the prison.
Just as Thor arrived, he saw the door opening and Loki walking out. He shouted and rushed towards Loki, successfully locking him back in the prison.
Loki, seeing Thor unchanged as before, smirked slightly, but before he could boast a few words, Coulson pointed an energy weapon at him. Without his powers, Coulson couldn't determine Loki's true form and was ambushed from behind by Loki.
"No!"
Watching Coulson's death, Thor slammed Mjolnir heavily against the glass wall. Loki chuckled and walked to the control panel, dropping the prison cell from high above. Coulson took advantage of Loki's distraction and used his last strength to pull the trigger and shoot him.
Yihu slowly approached Engine 3 and used his psychic powers to throw the member of the special force who had shot at Steve off the aircraft carrier. He then used a wrench to rescue Stark from the propellers.
In the corridor, Natasha encountered Hawkeye and after a brief fight, she accidentally hit him in the head. Hesitating for a moment upon hearing Barton's familiar name, she decided to knock him unconscious.
Just then, news of Loki's escape and Coulson's sacrifice came through the communicator. Steve and Stark wore expressions of grief and despair. The three of them arrived in the meeting room, where Nick Fury threw a blood-stained trading card in front of Steve and said softly, "This was found on Coulson. It seems he didn't get your autograph."
Nick Fury began playing the emotional card, positioning himself on the moral high ground, and prepared to use this opportunity to make them feel guilty and become his pawns. Steve, with a self-blaming expression, picked up the card and looked at the design inside, remaining speechless for a long time.
Stark turned away, ignoring Nick Fury. Yihu, with a smirk on his face, poured himself a glass of water and watched as the other played his one-man show.
After a somber narration, Nick Fury began explaining his ultimate goal, the Avengers Initiative. He wanted to use Coulson's death to force them to join the initiative, believing that once they cooperated once, there would be a second time, and eventually, he would gain complete control over the team.
"I'm not interested in what you're saying. Let me know when you find Loki," Yihu stood up, finished his glass of water, and walked straight towards the door. The Avengers couldn't bring him any benefits, only trouble. Yihu had no intention of getting involved in such thankless tasks.
Nick Fury stared coldly at Yihu's departing figure. Stark, taking the lead, quickly got up and left as well. He felt a bit unsettled in his mind at the moment. Coulson's death reminded him of the deaths of the soldiers who were killed during his abduction.
After some contemplation, Stark understood Loki's intentions. He quickly flew back to Stark Tower and looked at the equipment on the rooftop. He had the sudden urge to destroy Loki with the Repulsor Beam in his palm, but an invisible force blocked his attack.
The powerful impact stunned Dr. Erik Selvig. Loki slowly walked into the penthouse and looked at Stark with interest. After a conversation, Loki smiled and lightly tapped the Mind Stone on Stark's chest with the Scepter. The next moment, the smile disappeared from Loki's face. It was the first time he encountered someone who could resist his mental manipulation.
Angry, Loki grabbed Stark by the throat and threw him off the rooftop. Stark twisted in mid-air, avoiding the impact of the Iron Man armor. A few seconds later, Stark flew back to the window and used the Repulsor Beam to knock Loki away.
Just then, the equipment finished charging and emitted a pale blue beam of light into the sky. A portal appeared in the sky above the city, and a large number of Chitauri soldiers entered the city from the other side of the universe.
Stark piloted the Iron Man armor and flew towards the Chitauri army, attempting to intercept them. People on the streets looked up in astonishment and shouted, staying away from Stark Tower.
On a distant skyscraper, Ancient One effortlessly trapped hundreds of Chitauri soldiers in the Mirror Dimension, dealt with them, and repeated the same action.
