"Now that I've held my end of the bargain, now it's your turn." Kai leaned back without a care in the world," Kai leaned back without a care in the world, "Where's Rogue?"
After a few minutes of silence, Xavier nodded, "Follow me,"
Kai and Nathan stood up and followed Xavier, Cyclops, and Jean down the sleek hallways of the X-Mansion. The air was thick with tension as they made their way to the lower levels of the mansion. Finally, they reached a large metal door that slid open to reveal the entrance to Cerebro.
The circular room, dominated by the immense Cerebro device, exuded a powerful, almost otherworldly presence. Xavier led Kai to the center platform, where the intricate helmet of Cerebro awaited.
"This is Cerebro," Xavier explained, his voice echoing slightly in the cavernous room. "It's a device that amplifies my telepathic abilities, allowing me to locate any mutant across the globe."
"Go ahead..." Kai pointed ahead, not showing a single interest in the spectacular device in front of him.
Xavier motioned to Cyclops and Jean to stay outside as he prepared to enter Cerebro. "By using Cerebro, I can focus my mind and pinpoint Rogue's location. It won't take long."
Cyclops and Jean remained at the entrance, their eyes fixed on Kai and Nathan, ensuring they didn't make any sudden moves.
"Hey can I talk to you for a second," Cyclops asked with sincerity but Kai just gave him a single glance before ignoring him once more.
Xavier entered into the dome, and the rest stayed behind. He positioned himself in the center of Cerebro and placed the helmet on his head. The room hummed with energy as the device powered up, and Xavier's eyes closed in concentration.
Minutes passed in tense silence. Kai's patience was wearing thin, and Nathan kept a vigilant eye on their surroundings. Just as Kai was about to voice his impatience, Xavier's voice broke the silence as he rolled out of the door.
"I've found her," Xavier said, his voice filled with both relief and concern. "Magneto has certainly involved himself to a certain extent, as it was quite difficult to find her but luckily the place she's in isn't as perfect as it could be."
"Skip the theatrics, and get to the point, will ya," Kai said, his tone sharp and impatient.
Xavier remained composed, though the frustration in his eyes was evident. "She's being transported in a Van away from Manhattan's Financial District, but where the vehicle would end up I am not too certain."
"Knowing him, I believe, he must be transporting her to another country which would be the safest option." Nathan blurted out, "That'll be the safest assumption we can take."
Kai shook his head disagreeing, "Let's talk about this later."
The two began moving away as they completely ignored the mutants behind them.
After how the entire thing had gone down, he knew exactly what plot the other side was invested in.
Magneto's whole goal with Rogue should've something to do with his, mutation machine which would turn people into mutants. How it did what it did, he wasn't sure but he knew Magneto wanted Rogue to copy his powers so he could stay behind the sidelines while Rogue does most of the hard work until she dies from the effects of the machine.
If his assumptions were correct, he knew what deal Kingpin would get from Magneto. An army full of mutants.
Storm who came rushing over spared them a glance before heading toward Xavier, as she informed him that Magneto had indeed escaped from prison earlier in the day.
Armed with the knowledge, the atmosphere tensed among the mutants as they ignored Kai completely letting him walk away without any interruption.
"Professor, Do you think it's a good idea to let him go?" Storm voiced out her concern, Magneto was already their biggest headache but accounting for Kai, she wasn't sure what that mixture would brew up.
Xavier shook his head, "Although I am not keen on the fact that he would cause destruction unparalleled to anything we have seen before, we can't just keep him here as well."
"I don't understand professor, how does he know what he knows." Jean added to it, "Not only was he well equipped against telepathy, he didn't seem surprised by the existence of Cerebro as well."
"He has somehow gained a lot of information against us." Cyclops nodded, "But having his whole life uprooted by mutants, I can tell why he would be interested in getting such information but from who... I am not sure."
"One thing I am certain of is if Magneto and Kai were to come face to face, they would try to kill one another, and that alone would be a disaster in of itself."
"We can iron out the kinks later, but for now we need to begin acting quickly against what Magneto is preparing for." Xavier shook his head realizing he might be facing his worst disaster yet, "Are both Sabertooth and Mystique awake?"
"Mystique is still hazy but Sabertooth has already longed healed." Jean informed glancing through her tablet, "And it seems our guest has awakened as well."
"Wolverine..." Xavier nodded, "Bring me to them, we need to figure out what Magneto is after, and Jean, I want you to keep an eye on Kai's movement."
"Yes, professor."

"Are you certain, this will work?" Fisk asked pointing at one of his men who was wiggling around like Jelly, "If all this amounts to is my men being able to barely stand, I am not sure if I am comfortable with your idea."
"Relax, Mr. Kingpin... as you can see, my mutation device works as I promised." Magneto who was freshly out of prison sat in his chair, his clothes shined in the dark with his iconic helmet making him stand out amongst the rest, "Now what mutation occurs in an individual is not up to me, but I believe even that man, once he gains control of his powers will a massive advantage to you."
Not waiting for Fisk to speak, Magneto launched a steal rod straight at the jelly-like man, and it not only pierced through him completely escaping out the other side, but the man was completely fine as the hole he had pierced began to stitch back together itself.
Fisk who was witnessing this act happen, eased up a little as he nodded, "Bring me the girl!"
His men nodded, as they dragged out Rogue who looked pale and weak, bound in heavy restraints designed to suppress her powers. Her eyes widened as she saw the figures in the room. Her confusion was evident, she still couldn't understand what these men wanted with her.

Sorry, for not posting yesterday. I had my college interview and had to prepare for it. To make up for that I'll be posting two chapters today.
