Kai's eyes narrowed at the scene as he swiftly leaped to the side, narrowly dodging the man who leaped at him from a great distance.
The man, dressed in tattered clothes with a rugged beard and fangs protruding from his mouth, landed heavily on the ground where Kai had been standing just moments before. His eyes gleamed with a feral intensity as he turned to face Kai, revealing a mouth filled with sharp, jagged teeth.
"Who are you!" the man growled, his voice guttural and laced with hostility.
"Meh! I could tell you but what's the point of introducing myself to a dead guy..." Kai leaped forward his hands still in his pocket as he kicked the man heavily sending him flying out of the cold house until he crashed onto a pillar.
Kai casually walked out of the cold room as he stared around the ceiling of the warehouse, "I can see you, so you can stop hiding vampires..."
Several thumps followed as figures dropped from hidden perches, landing around Kai in a semi-circle. Each one bore the telltale signs of vampirism—pale skin, elongated canines, and a predatory gleam in their eyes.
The leader, a tall vampire with a regal bearing, stepped forward. His voice was smooth but laced with a dangerous edge. "Impressive. Are you a hunter? No, that can't be... a mutant? That might not be right either... I have never seen someone like you before..."
"Can you cut the guessing game?" Kai glared at the man who seemed to be their leader as he looked around the remaining people with great interest.
"Vampires in New York, that's hilarious!" He chuckled nearly applauding the amusing scenario, "Were you puppies abandoned by your sects or were you folks turned? In the end, I suppose it doesn't matter."
"You seem to know quite a bit about us..." A young man with blonde short hair walked forward, "It doesn't seem like you're here on a friendly faith, so forgive my impatience."
The man snapped his finger as one after another, the men surrounding him began leaping towards him.
Kai's smile didn't fade as he casually dodged the men one after another, and he threw a kick at the incoming vampire sending him tumbling across the room.
"That's right... use your strength to the fullest."
Kai's eyes glinted with amusement as he deftly evaded the vampires' attacks, their movements a blur of supernatural speed and agility. His grin widened as he countered with precise strikes, each blow aimed to incapacitate rather than kill, at least for now.
Vampires were amusing creatures in the Marvel universe, and although most of his knowledge about them came from the character Blade, he still had decent ideas about their origins and their weaknesses.
With his current boost in powers, he wanted to experience fighting physically for the first time as he had been too reliant on his abilities and wanted to test his strength now more than ever.
The vampires although a surprise, it was a pleasant experience nonetheless. With their enhanced physique and strength, they currently made the best sparring partner he could ask for.
Kai's movements were fluid and precise as he engaged the vampires, each strike a calculated dance of combat honed by years of training and his newfound enhancements. His senses, heightened by the cursed fingers he had consumed earlier, allowed him to anticipate their attacks with almost preternatural clarity.
The vampires, driven by their predatory instincts and the thrill of battle, pressed their advantage with relentless ferocity. Their attacks came in waves, each one testing Kai's agility and reflexes to their limits. Yet, Kai met every challenge head-on, evading their claws and teeth with effortless grace.
As the skirmish unfolded, Kai began to experiment with his newfound physical prowess. He tested the limits of his strength, delivering powerful kicks and punches that sent vampires crashing into walls and pillars with bone-crunching force. Each impact resonated through the warehouse, a testament to Kai's raw power and skill.
Despite the chaos of battle, Kai maintained a calm demeanor, his focus unwavering as he studied the vampires' movements and reactions. He was learning their patterns, their strengths, and their vulnerabilities, all while reveling in the exhilaration of combat.
One particularly agile vampire managed to land a glancing blow across Kai's forearm, drawing a thin line of blood. Kai barely flinched, his adrenaline-fueled focus driving him forward. With a swift retaliation, he countered with a devastating knee strike that sent the vampire reeling back meters away, completely knocking him out.
*Clap*
The leader applauded as he watched all his men being incapacitated in an instant as he raised his hands gloriously, "You're perfect!"
"Why don't you join hands with me, with your powers you're already perfect but once you become a vampire like me... I assure you... you'll be something more-"
"Yawn!!" Kai yawned dramatically, cutting off the vampire leader mid-sentence. His expression was one of amused indifference, unaffected by the vampire's attempts at persuasion.
"Join you? That sounds extremely boring to the point it makes me sleepy just thinking about it." Kai chuckled dryly, his voice dripping with sarcasm. The vampire leader's expression twisted with frustration and anger at Kai's dismissive attitude.
The both of them slowly began walking in rounds as Kai asked, "Is it because I look like a villain that everyone I meet wants me to join hands with them? Or is it just a trait the villains share?"
"Unlike those chumps, I was born a vampire. It feels insulting that you're looking down on me," The leader said as he let out a snarl, his sharp fangs glistening in the dim light of the warehouse.
Kai's smirk widened, amused by the vampire's response, "Look down at you? You have a high opinion of yourself if you believe I even care about your existence."
With a sudden burst of speed, the vampire leader lunged at Kai, his claws extended to strike. Kai sidestepped effortlessly, his movements fluid as water, and countered with a swift kick to the vampire's abdomen. The leader staggered back, surprised by Kai's agility and strength.
"You're quick, I'll give you that," Kai remarked casually, his voice laced with amusement. "But speed alone won't win you this fight."
The vampire growled in frustration, his eyes blazing with renewed determination. He lunged again, this time with a series of rapid strikes aimed at Kai's head and torso. Kai evaded each blow with graceful precision, his movements a mesmerizing blend of anticipation and reaction.
As the skirmish continued, Kai noticed a pattern in the vampire leader's attacks—a slight hesitation before each strike, a tell that betrayed his movements. With this newfound insight, Kai began to anticipate and counter with greater efficiency, gradually gaining the upper hand.
With a calculated move, Kai feinted to the left, drawing the vampire's attention, then swiftly delivered a spinning kick that connected with the leader's jaw. The impact sent the vampire crashing into a stack of crates, which collapsed under his weight with a thunderous crash.
The vampire leader staggered to his feet, visibly shaken but still defiant. Blood trickled from his split lip, staining his sharp teeth crimson. He glared at Kai with burning intensity, his pride wounded but his resolve unbroken.
"I finally realize, you're not just a lost puppy but a wounded one as well." Kai mocked his laugh echoing through the empty warehouse as the leader let out almost a roar heading for him.
The two men grappled for control, each trying to gain the upper hand in a brutal, unrelenting dance of power and skill. The vampire leader's strength was formidable, his strikes powerful and precise, but Kai's agility and enhanced senses allowed him to anticipate and counter each move with calculated efficiency.
Their fight became a blur of motion, punctuated by the sounds of impacts and grunts of exertion. The vampire's claws slashed through the air, narrowly missing Kai's flesh, while Kai's fists and feet struck with bone-crushing force, sending the vampire reeling back again and again.
"Is that all you've got?" Kai taunted, his voice steady despite the intensity of the battle. "I was expecting more from the leader of the so-called Crimson Blades."
The vampire leader's eyes burned with rage and humiliation. He let out a primal roar, his fangs bared as he lunged at Kai with renewed fury. This time, he moved with blinding speed, his attacks coming from all directions in a relentless onslaught.
Kai's grin widened, relishing the challenge. He flowed around the vampire's strikes, his movements a seamless blend of defense and counterattack. He struck with pinpoint accuracy, targeting the vampire's weak points and exploiting every opening with ruthless efficiency.
With a powerful upward kick, Kai connected with the vampire's chin, lifting him off his feet and sending him crashing to the ground. The leader struggled to rise, his body battered and bruised, but the defiance in his eyes remained undimmed.
"Why... won't you... fall?" the vampire gasped, blood dripping from his mouth.
"Because," Kai replied, his voice calm and unwavering, "I'm just stronger than you."
