"Natasha, how did it go?" Nick Fury called and asked with a smile.
"You wasted my time. I'm starting to think you're messing with me on purpose," Natasha complained.
"Huh? What happened? Explain," Nick Fury asked, sounding a bit surprised. What does she mean I wasted her time?
"You said this guy was a supernatural threat, but he's just an ordinary human, a petty thief at best. He doesn't seem like someone who could take down a drug lord," Natasha said, shaking her head.
After short contact, she knew this kind of person was not someone who could take down a drug lord at all.
"This… I'm not sure," Nick Fury admitted, looking puzzled. It would make sense if he were a supernatural being to silently eliminate drug lords. How could he not be?
As for the wrong misinformation?
that's impossible. If S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intelligence was all wrong, there wouldn't be any accurate information at all."
"I've done my part. I'll leave the rest to you. Just don't disturb my vacation anymore," Natasha said with a yawn.
For some reason, she felt inexplicably tired
She then hung up the phone abruptly.
Nick Fury stroked his chin, pondering what Johnson was really like.
But they would have to wait until the guy arrived at S.H.I.E.L.D. to find out.
"Let's find a hotel first. What's wrong with me?" Natasha rubbed her brow, feeling inexplicably tired.
The culprit for this reason is Yang Han.
The Venom symbiote, originally fused with human genes, had been forcefully integrated with Natasha's own genes when her body recognized Yang Han as a viral invader. This forced fusion activated her body's self-protection system.
As a result, Natasha felt inexplicably tired.
After walking to the nearest hotel and opening a room, Natasha locked the door behind her and fell directly onto the bed, succumbing to sleep.
Soon, the sky outside shifted from day to night and then back to morning.
Gentle sunlight streamed into the room through the cracks in the curtains.
Natasha stirred, slowly opening her tightly closed eyes. She stretched lazily and glanced at the time. It was already seven o'clock in the morning.
"I was out for almost a day and a night?" Natasha looked at the date in disbelief.
As a super-agent with high resistance to drugs and negative physical conditions, she was surprised to find she had fallen into a coma for nearly a full day without realizing it.
What is going on here?
She hadn't had contact with anyone except Johnson.
Natasha's heart skipped a beat. Maybe this is that guy's ability.
Without hesitation, she picked up her flip phone, ready to call Nick Fury and report the situation.
"Crack!"
The sound of mechanical shattering echoed through the room. Natasha looked at the hole in her phone, about the thickness of her index finger, with a dazed expression.
What's wrong with her?
She just pressed a button just now, so why did it cause the phone to crack open?
Staring at the phone with its black screen and flashing electric arcs at the damaged parts, Natasha was still in shock.
When did her strength become so great?
"What's wrong with me?" Natasha wondered aloud, examining the broken phone in her hand. Her brows furrowed slightly.
"Crack."
There was another crisp sound, and she crushed the lower half of the flip phone.
"My God!" Natasha looked at the phone that had been completely scrapped, with an expression of disbelief flashing on her face. A day ago, she didn't have this ability.
She also felt that she hadn't used any force at all, yet the phone was crushed so easily.
"Is that guy's ability turning people into monsters?" Natasha quickly got up and walked toward the bathroom.
"Boom!" There was a soft sound as Natasha pulled down the bathroom door.
Natasha walked to the mirror, looked at her beautiful face, and immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
No woman ignores her appearance. If she had turned into a monster, she would rather not have this power.
"Why do I feel that my skin is whiter, more supple, and even firmer?" Natasha touched her face, her expression full of doubt. Just a day ago, she was certain her skin wasn't as good as it is now.
"And my strength has increased too," she thought, recalling the phone she had crushed earlier.
"How is it? Isn't this kind of power intoxicating?" A deep, slightly magnetic voice spoke in Natasha's ears, causing her to become immediately on edge.
"Who is it?!" Natasha's body instinctively dropped into a fighting stance, welcoming the battle that may come at any time.
"Who am I? Of course it is the existence that brought you this power." A puddle of liquid quickly condensed from Natasha's shoulder into a very hideous face.
"What are you? Why are you inside me?" Natasha was unsettled. Despite her experience, the sight of this hideous creature emerging from her body was deeply disturbing.
"As expected from someone I chose," Yang Han said with admiration. "You're indeed better than that other person. My efforts haven't been in vain." He noted with satisfaction, remembering how Johnson, the unfortunate one, had been so terrified by their symbiosis that he lost control. Natasha's composure was a testament to her strength, making Yang Han quite pleased.
"That guy? You were the one who killed those drug dealers!" Natasha, quick to piece things together, realized the connection. Given Johnson's nature and the current bizarre situation, it was clear why he had been able to eliminate those drug dealers.
With this strange creature at play, taking down mere drug traffickers was child's play.
"Exactly. Do you think that coward would have the guts to kill anyone?" Yang Han responded with a sneer.
"What kind of monster are you?" Natasha's voice wavered. It was hard for anyone to stay calm in the presence of such a grotesque entity.
Although the creature could still communicate, its thought process was utterly alien to Natasha, fueling her panic.
"Monster? No, no, no! I'm not a monster." Black fluid began to cascade down Natasha's shoulder, wrapping around her entire right arm. The hideous face she had seen earlier reappeared, now on her arm.
Natasha was horrified to realize that her right hand was no longer under her control.
"You can call me Venom, or Yang Han. It's our first meeting, so I hope we'll get along," Venom said with a sinister grin, his sharp teeth prominently displayed as he drew closer to Natasha.
