Adam found his friends unreliable, and the only ones who could truly assist him were the two elderly ladies at home. They understood the intricacies of his marriage and could offer tailored guidance.
Catherine remained guarded. "Why did you bring so many things?"
Adam couldn't help but chuckle at Catherine's remark. "As a dutiful descendant, I couldn't come empty-handed to pay my respects, could I?"
Catherine's worries subsided. "It's all because of your previous careless actions that I became afraid."
Adam escorted Catherine into the house and dismissed the housekeeper and servants. "Grandma, where is Lumma's grandmother?"
Catherine replied, "She's feeling a bit unwell today. The doctor prescribed some medication, and she's resting in her room."
Adam promptly rose from his seat. "I'll go check on her."
