Chương 8: Uncanny Thoughts
Luca sat in the meeting room with a brooding face, he was deep in thoughts and wasn't paying attention to the secretary's presentation.
"Sir, do you not like the presentation?" Luca looked around and saw everyone staring at him with anxious faces.
It wasn't like him to zone out during a meeting but her face keeps appearing in his head "Let's adjourn the meeting" He said and stood up to leave the room.
Immediately he left everyone exhaled the breath they held. They wondered what was wrong with him as something like this had never happened before.
Luca got to his office and saw Enzo sitting in his office eating an apple.
He went and sat behind his desk "Did you drop her off safely?"
"Yes, I did. I also put in a good word for you concerning the proposal. You need to give me a raise, you can't find someone as loyal as me" Enzo said with a smirk.
Luca ignored his statement and thought back to what happened this morning, he hoped she wasn't still angry with him.
"Do you think she's angry with me?" Luca asked with a stoic face.
"Can you try and look worried when asking a question like that?" Enzo said shaking his head "Well, if it's about the credit card I don't know, you have to fix that by yourself. How could you flaunt your wealth like that, women don't like that."
Luca sighed "It seems like I have a lot to learn. I feel bad for rushing her too, but this is the only way I can be with her faster. I've waited too long."
"It's weird seeing you behave like this" Luca looked at him sternly with his eyebrows raised "Hehehehe, I mean a good weird. It's good to see you like this." Enzo said with a nervous laugh.
'I wonder how Silver's going to cope with him.'
He stood to leave the office but Luca stopped him "Cassio called earlier with news stating that the Russo clan had intercepted our goods that were to arrive this evening."
Enzo's playful face quickly took a serious turn "Seems like we're finally going to pay him a visit."
"He has been getting on my nerves but I kept ignoring him because of my father's past relationship with him, but the old fool doesn't know when to stop. He touched my money and no one dares to play with my money." Luca said icily.
Luca was a businessman, a very successful one, and the top in the country but underneath that facade, he was a mafia boss and a ruthless one at that.
He was the overall head of all the Mafia bosses in the country, but some like this Russo refuses to stay in check.
"Get Aldo to track his current location. We're visiting Russo."

Meanwhile Back At Silver's Place.
Silver lay on her bed thinking of what the future held for her, yes, she accepted to marry Luca but she wished she had found love instead of an arranged marriage.
Silver was someone who had always believed in true love and happily ever after. While growing up she had watched a lot of fairytale cartoons, where the prince gets to love one princess for the rest of his life.
She had always envisioned her life that way, thinking and hoping that her true partner would be waiting for her somewhere, but now she has to give up on that dream and enter a loveless marriage.
"Silver!! Silver!!" She jolted up in shock at the sound of her name.
The door opened with a loud bang making her heart skip a beat.
"Carlotta, what are you doing here?" She was surprised to see her best friend at her house and not in school.
Carlotta's eyes became teary "Are you now pushing me away because you're getting married soon? Don't you know your house is mine and mine is yours, how could you ask why I'm here?"
Silver heaved a long sigh, she didn't have the strength for this conversation "I'm sorry okay? I didn't mean it that way, come here,"
Carlotta beamed and embraced her making the both of them fall on the bed "You know I'm angry at you right? How could you ditch me to spend the night with your husband, are you now rubbing my single life in my face?"
"By the way, is your husband good-looking? When I heard his voice over the phone it gave me chills, but he has a nice voice though, it sounded very manly" Carlotta said fishing for juicy details.
Silver rolled her eyes rushing her away "Luca aside, how could you leave me alone in that party, do you know what I had to go through without you there by my side."
"I can't even begin to fathom what transpired yesterday at that rotten fish party, it irks me to think I once had a crush on him" Carlotta quickly sat up looking worried "What do you mean by that Silver, Did something happen yesterday?"
Silver then narrated what took place at Jeff's house. Her body trembled as she told Carlotta what she passed through.
"That jerk, arrogant scumbag, how dare he lay his hands on you? Where is he right now? What he needs is a good beating, I'm going to teach him a lesson he would never forget..." She rolled her sleeves up in preparation for a fight.
Silver drew her back and hugged her crying in her arms. Now that she talked about it, her mind kept replaying it and she felt disgusted and dirty within. To be touched and felt like that, she was almost raped if not for Luca's help.
"I'm so sorry, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. It will never happen again. If I ever see that scumbag again I will beat him to a pulp, you can count on me."
Silver laughed at this "How would you do that, you have a small body. Can you even fight?"
"Are you doubting my skills? I'm known to be the best fighter of all time." Carlotta pouted. She was glad Sliver was laughing now, she felt bad that she wasn't there to protect her.
"Now why don't you tell me about your husband" She wiggled her eyebrows "You said his name was Luca. Seems like you've finally agreed to marry him, did he cast a spell on you after one night? Or did you guys...." She gasped.
"That wasn't how I brought you up Silver, how could you give in just after meeting him once, was he that handsome for you to lose control..." Carlotta scolded like a mother scolding her child who has decided to walk down the wrong path.
Silver groaned in frustration and hit her on her back "How could you think something like that you corrupt girl? Geez! I don't even know how you managed to think that far" She shook her head and stood up from the bed.
"Besides I was only there because he saved me and nothing more, I wasn't even myself when I was there. I believe I told you that when I was explaining to you earlier." She was frustrated and with Carlotta planting these images in her mind she was imagining herself with Luca.
How she would like to feel his lips on hers, kissing, sucking, and tasting the flavor of his tongue. And how she would run her hands through his hair...
'What the hell was that Silver? How could you have such thoughts about Luca?'
