Daniella's pov.
I took a quick look at everything on the table and felt a sense of satisfaction; I had personally cooked every meal exactly how my husband, Gabriel, loved it. Today was going to be special, not only were we celebrating our third anniversary, but I also found out I was pregnant just few hours ago. Gabriel is going to be so overjoyed when he hears the news; he has always wanted to be a father.
Ding dong, the bell rang, I quickly hurried to the door and helped him take off his coat.
"What's wrong ?" I asked noticing he looked stressed.
"Nothing Daniella," he answered unbuttoning his shirt while walking away.
"Daniella?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "You never call me that, what happened to babe, sweetheart?"
"It's your government name. Don't make a fuss out of nothing," he replied.
I sighed, I'm just going to let him be, I was fully aware that business lately has been stressful, there was no reason to ruin our night over something like that.
"Would you like to eat now? I made your favorite,"
"I'm not hungry," he replied collapsing into the sofa.
"But they are your favorite Babe, I made it specially for you," I explained and sat down next to him playing with his beard. "You would not want to offend your wife by not eating the food she took her time to cook,"
"Daniella, we have maids for that. If you are going to be offended that I don't want to eat your food, you should not have wasted your time," he hissed.
I was taken aback by his reaction, he never acted like this before "Why are you being so cranky?"
"That's because you don't know when to shut up," he yelled.
"You will not speak in that manner to me Gabriel," I said stabbing my finger into his hard chest.
He caught my hands, his eyes were blazing red with anger, and in a low hush tone, he hissed. "I would speak to you however I want,"
"What has gotten into you Gabriel, I'm not one of those men you control, I AM YOUR FUCKING WIFE," I yelled pulling my hands away from his grip.
"Not anymore," he muttered
"What? What the hell are you talking about?"
He brought out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it over to me. "Sign the damn papers,"
"It has got to be a bad joke?" I chuckled.
"I don't want you as my wife anymore," he answered staring into my soul with not a single emotion.
"This has to be the craziest prank anyone has ever pulled on me, " I said getting up from the chair and going towards the dining.
"Where are you going ?" Gabriel's voice thundered.
"To the kitchen, of course. I need a slice of cake," I moaned. "If you are not going to eat, you don't have to throw a tantrum, I will eat on my own,"
"Did you not hear what I just said?" Gabriel asked, following me from behind.
"I heard you loud and clear Gabriel," I replied while slicing the cake. "That just a stupid joke to tell your wife on our anniversary,"
I moaned in pleasure as the cake melted into my mouth, I don't know if it was the pregnancy cravings but this felt like the best thing I have had in years.
"Are you that dumb Daniella?" he asked.
"Here, have a bite." I stretched a slice of cake towards him. He brushed it off my hand letting it fall to the ground.
I stared at the cake on the ground and then at him. This was not a joke.
"Sign the papers woman," Gabriel said, clearly irritated.
"You no longer want me," I whispered, my heart was pounding so loudly, that I feared it was going to explode.
"Took you so long to catch up, bitch"
I swallowed, trying to comprehend what was happening, one moment I was planning my anniversary and in a matter of seconds I was getting a divorce.
Tears gathered in my eyes. " Why Gabriel? Why? … I thought you loved me ?"
Gabriel laughed long and hard and when he was done gazed into my eyes with no emotions almost as if he lacked a soul "Love. Do you even know what Love is? I never loved you and I never will,"
I clenched my chest as I fell to the ground, it was as if my heart was being stabbed with a thousand knives and I could not take it anymore.
"Please Gabriel tell me this is a joke. Please whatever it is, we can work it out together,"
"There's nothing to fix in our marriage, you are a worthless piece of shit and I regret ever knowing you," he responded.
My heart scattered into tiny pieces, this is not how I envisioned my night to end not like this, this is supposed to be the moment where will we celebrating.
I wipe the tears from my eyes and look straight into his eyes.
"Tell me why you no longer want me and I will leave you alone."
His response was very painful to hear. "I have found someone better,"
"Who is she," I managed to ask, at this point my legs felt like jelly and they were barely able to carry my weight and I felt dizzy.
"It's none of your business, Woman."
" It's my business," I cried, "IT IS MY FUCKING BUSINESS, I want to know why you will abandon your three years in marriage for another woman, I want to know who she is,"
"Mr Antionos's daughter," he murmured, avoiding my gaze.
I covered my mouth with my hands, fighting back the tears that were threatening to fall.
"Are you happy now?" Gabriel chided.
"You…you told me….," I faltered, struggling to speak. "You told me she meant nothing to you,"
"I lied….We have been having an affair for over a month now and she is pregnant with my child," he confessed.
I opened my mouth to speak but I could not find my voice. "Are you being honest," I asked, desperately wanting all this to be a bad joke.
"Yes," I could have sworn that I saw a bit of emotion in his eyes before he turned them away but it might have been my imagination.
I shaked my head frantically, panicking unable to believe what I was hearing.
"Please babe, we can definitely work it out ," I said holding his hand.
He forcefully pushed me, causing me to stumble and fall to the ground.
"Get away from me,"
