The cold breeze howled outside at night, and the chilled hearts would not warm up under the shelter of the house.

A sudden phone call broke the standoff between Charlotte and Henry, who were staring at each other.

Without a word, Henry picked up his coat hanging on the wall, closed the door, and left, leaving the lonely Charlotte behind.

"The sooner I let go, the sooner I can move on." Charlotte comforted herself while actually resenting Henry's relentless suspicion and cursing Lily McKenzie's unscrupulous slander.
