“That’s good.” Steffy smiled.
“I think that’s all for today. You can go home if you want. I’ve got work to do here. Just lock the front door when you leave.”
“Thank you, Dr. T, my boyfriend’s taking me out to eat tonight and I want to be ready when he gets there.”
“Then go. Have a good time.”
“Thank you. I will. See you tomorrow!” Steffy made a quick exit. She must have had everything ready before she asked, Maggie chuckled to herself, as she heard the outer door close and the lock snap into place.
Maggie looked at the clock: 4:35. She could get all her paperwork done and still be home in time to get a good night’s sleep. She looked at the calendar on her desk. She hadn’t called Washington since last month. For the first few weeks, she’d called Craig every day to inquire about Cam. Then she’d slipped to every other day, then once a week. Now it was every once in a while. No one seemed to know where Cameron was being held or even if she was still alive.
