The rays of the sun shining make her eyes glare. A woman turned in the opposite direction and tried to sleep again. "Good morning, My daughter. Rise and shine!"

"What are you doing in my room?" She asked the man in front of her. That man just smiled, like giving some signal to her.

"AGH! father always ruined my peaceful day. Okay! I will get up and prepared." She said.

My father never let me sleep until the whole day. Because it is not good for my health. Lately, I'm sleeping almost sunset. So he came into my room without permission and woke me up by force.

"That's my daughter. I know you want to get some rest. You should have a productive time to improve your body. I don't want you to get sick again." He said while holding his shoulder.

"Yes, father. I won't."

I'm not a child anymore. You should know that.

"Good, I'm doing this for your good. I promise your mother to take care of my daughter when she's gone. Are you remember?"

"I know. Thank you, father."

My father kisses my forehead before he goes. He said there was work he needs to finish. While I don't have a schedule today.

"Is this really my personal office?" She opened the door connected to her personal office. The thing that she gets is a messy room full of books.

"Haa..." She heaved a long sigh and take care of all of her books. When cleaning up those books. She did not accidentally see newspapers with interesting things.

"Today's newspaper?" She read it while sitting in her personal chair.

It feels very different from hers. Vanessa, the daughter of the Grand Duke. A vampire woman who will come of age this year. Has been getting bad memories since the incident twenty years ago. Vanessa lost the people she loved and all kinds of small and big problems. How could she survive at this stage?

"Today's newspaper...they talking about us, right?"

In a room full of books. That woman was reading the news of the day. The headlines in the newspaper are useless. So she burns the news until it becomes ashes.

"Haa..." She sighed.

All the news that I got today, about the relationship I was with Victor. Everyone is talking about the two of us. Gossip said that we both love each other. But instead, a human girl appeared.

A fox steals Victor's attention. I really like when they called Valeska the fox. I also did not protest that we loved each other. To be honest, I've said my love for him and it was two months ago. Why am I suddenly thinking about him?!

"Speaking of which, the battle still continues. Basil becomes a new commander. There is no progress regarding the search of the fugitives and I still wonder with the person who spoke to me in the forest!" She was annoyed.

Since Basil had gone, Vanessa feel so bored. Some of these days she just spends time in the room and a library. She finally stop thinking and tidy up the scattered books. She brought the books with a stroller.

Arriving there, she was greeted by a few knights. They offered her help. "No need. I can do it by myself. Have a nice day." She said.

The knight is instantly fascinated by her and can't stop being stunned.

"Ahem!" Varest with a penetrating gaze in their direction.

"Ah...We excuse ourselves as knight, Young Master." Then they rush out of the room.

Those knights. How dare they stare at Miss Vanessa. What a shame!

"You here, Young Man?"

"Miss...Vanessa?" He surprised.

She was sitting on the long couch and asked him to sit here. Varest feels nervous and then takes a book to read. Vanessa rests on the long sofa while reading a thick book.

"Your book is upside down, you know?"

"Ah...Yes.."

What's wrong with him? Not like usual. Don't make me do something strange to you. Today is a tough day. In fact, I just relax all day.

"Hooaam!" She gave a great yawn.

The big windows library brings the wind inside. She felt sleepy. Her beautiful face still shining despite being asleep.

The knights and the male servants who accidentally passed by is laughing seeing her. But also fascinating. Varest who was annoyed to see it. He as the prey stared cruelly into all of them. He asks them to go from here. Varest could only sigh.

"Varest, I was wondering about something. Are you alone for all these years?" She asked with her eyes closed.

You scared me. I thought you were asleep. If so...is Miss Vanessa see what I was doing to the knights? What have I done?

"Ehem...No...I don't have it. I was alone."

I was alone from the beginning. I have no one in this world. Only death who was with me right now.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't ask."

He hesitated. "It's okay, Miss Vanessa...?"

Vanessa suddenly moves from her seat and sleeps in his lap. "Just for a while. Only five minutes."

Miss Vanessa who was fell asleep on my lap. It's make my heart race for no reason. Something bothered me all the time. Our relationship will not last long.

"Five years later, huh?" He said with a tiny voice.

Five years later, what's going to happen with his future? Is he going to continue living here forever?
