Villian froze in place. After the incident at Auroria, he is not considered himself as good as he was. He would kill someone on sight if they threatened him. But he did not consider himself evil enough to kill a boy in his sleep.
The reddish brown sabertooth lifts both of four of his paws on one of the chairs. He wanted to take a closer look at the strange yet familiar map. There is something off about this version of the map compared to the one in Auroria.
For summary, we are on a large continent of Caladrys. The detail between the two versions of map is quite similar. But the human version of the map adds some islands on the top northwestern part separated by the sea.
The island displayed as black rather than your usual topographical map like green for grassland, brown for mountains, or yellow such as savannah in Auroria.
The northwestern island's full area seems to be cut by the edge of the map, displaying only the south western portion of it. There is a skull as a placeholder that was deliberately put by the person in charge here.
Villian shook when he saw the same blackened area near the forbidden zone. It is small but also has a skull placeholder like that distant island.
One thing is certain about the comparison. The humans know something more about this than the sabertooth was.
With a closer look he realized something, the one place in the forbidden zone is exactly here.
'What does the human fight against?'
There are some files neatly stacked on top of each other.
The top most file is written "Operation Casualties."
Villian opened the file to find some disturbing statement.
'House Starforge casualty : 1.000 men'
'House Sylvaris casualty : 5.000 men'
'House Morvalen casualty : 10.000 men'
'The Entity killed : 1.000 entities'
'The entity?' Villian mutters to himself. He actually never heard of 'The Entity'. The counselor never counsel him about any of this.
'Are the sabertooths leaving all this mess to humans?' This makes Villian more angry than ever to his former clan. The urge to make them pay boils Villian blood.
"W-who is that?" screamed someone.
Villian's soul almost jumped by surprised. He growls at the source of the sound.
"A s-sabertooth?!" said the boy having fully woken up.
"Sorry kid, you will not escape this." Villian, instead of fleeing, eyeing the boy. Preparing to attack him physically and shut him. After that, he would try to flee before the guards showed up.
The boy held his book close. He stuck out his hand with a massive tremor.
"T-[Tame]"
A spirit chain unleashed from his hand. Goes to Villian with an insane speed. The sabertooth cannot react in time. The astral chain sticks in Villian. The cold steel can be felt tangling his skin but at the same time weightless.
Villian panic. He immediately ran without any second thought.
'No! This cannot be happening!' Anxiety is taking over.
The more he runs, the more the pressure in his neck suffocates him.
The kid too tried his hardest to pull back the saber tooth tiger, but he is still weaker than Villian and stumbles himself.
Although Villian is winning the tug of war, he cannot forever bring this kid everywhere the sabertooth goes. Seeing that the chain actually comes from the inside of his left arm.
The excruciating pain made him stop.
The reddish brown sabertooth immediately unleashes his [Spirit Channeling]. Trying to fly away from these circumstances.
He is ready to abandon his identity as Villian and go to another body. Everything but getting chained like a dog by a snot nose kid.
But the sensation of cold steel still lingers in his neck.
"Oh no!" cursed Villian inwardly.
The astral chain still envelops his neck on a spiritual level. Furthermore, by physical strength he is still much weaker in his spirit form.
The reddish brown sabertooth turns to the boy. He launches his spirit body towards the boy. Thinking that being a new aristocratic life is not going too bad. At least he can own armies in the future.
The spirit body enters the boy and begins biting his spirit body.
Villian succeed in biting the boy but stopped. He too experienced a mysterious pain in the exact same place where he bit the boy.
Both of them screamed.
"Young master, are you alright?" The red armored soldier looks at the crime scene and immediately flabbergasted. "Is that a sabertooth?"
The red soldier is taking aim at the unconscious sabertooth with his rifle.
The boy freezes in place but his finger pointed to a spot between the two. "Shoot the blue sabertooth over there! I beg you!"
Spirit Villian freezes in place. Having resigned from his current situation.
The soldier looks at the boy with a confused look. "Where is the blue tiger, young master?"
The boy widens his eyes. "What do you mean? Just shoot at this spot you useless bodyguard!"
The soldier's hand goes into a little tremor. Probably shocked by the remarks of his young master.
Without questioning any longer, he shot the exact spot the kid pointed to.
The bullet launched through the Spirit Villian without harming him. Instead, the bullet phased through Spirit Villian and launched through the tent to the outside.
Spirit Villian exhaled his breath. His two eyes fixated on the boy.
The boy did the same without saying a word too.
The pause goes for a long time.
"Marcel, can you leave me for a bit?" asked the boy to his soldier.
Villian did not object.
Marcel goes into panic and confusion. "But, the tiger?"
"It's okay. I put a tranquilizing spell to it. The tiger won't move for a long time."
The soldier pauses for a bit but eventually gives in. "Okay young master. I take my leave."
And then Marcel left. Leaving the two behind staring at each other. Trying to analyze the situation.
The only connection currently for them is the mysterious astral chain.
