Zhang Xuan remained by her side all the time, helping her in his own ways. When she cultivated, he played zither like the first day, and when she practiced spells or sword arts, he joined her.

On the other hand, time started passing in the Mortal Realm as well. An year passed quickly since Chen Xiang Ling's death and most of her husbands left home except for Wei Guang and Li Xian. Unfortunately, the former fell ill right after a month of their wife's loss and the latter wasn't doing any better either.

The Chen family tried their best to look after the two Young Masters, but no physician was able to treat them as they none of them carried any medicine that could heal heartache.
