Today was supposed to be the day. I was supposed to ace my test. I was gonna talk to some friends after school, and pass my engineering class. I had everything lined up. I studied for a month, and I've been anticipating this very moment… all for this. What the fuck went wrong? Where am I?.. I just need to think. To collect my thoughts.
What was the last thing that happened before it all went wrong?
The corridors lit up, as the sun blared through marking the halls with a shade of pink and orange. Conversations seemingly lit up from thin air, and the air would only continue to thin. The halls were palpable with panic, excitement, the works. Soon, a boy began to walk amidst the hallways. Attempting to hide his panic, as he scrambled through his locker. The metal clanged as he looked for his notebook. He just needed to study one last time. What if he messed up? How would his parents react? And then, a shrill voice. "Lukas…Whadid I tell you about the finals?" As the voice stated this, a hulking figure loomed over him, overcasting a shadow. Slowly but surely, his sluggish hand wrapped around Lukas' shoulder, gripping it tightly as he held the notebook.
The air became silent, as people began to clear out and drizzled into their classes.
And then the silence broke.
"…Yeah, alright brawn's for brains. Sure." Soon, the menacing aura turned to playful joking.
"So, what you need my notebook for anyways? Gonna finally do some studying?" As The other retorted, "Oh you know better then that. Just can't have your ass worried sick. I know how you are around tests ye big nerd." As the 2 laughed and joked, the air stopped its thinning, a brief moment of reprieve. Today was finals for the junior year, and it seemed like everyone's minds were on academics. And yet, the bright spring sky provided a reprieve. The hardest part was almost over. Slowly but surely, each and everyone made it to the class.
"Ey Lukas, One more thing. Don't stress yerself. Besides, we both know you overstudied."
I had to focus on the test. My eyes concentrated, laser focused. And yet I felt like they were beginning to give out for some reason. My head begun to hurt violently; when I tried to stand, my body refused. I started shrugging this off. It's just anxiety, it's just the test. But then my hand stopped. Then it hit me, everyone else had stopped moving; Stuck within a stasis.
I had no idea what was happening, my hearts pumping like hell, and a light began to grow in my eyes. And then I saw it. A light, that began to grow and grow in the corner of the room until it had enveloped the door. By the time people tried to do something about whatever this was, it was to late. I could feel my heart stop pulsing, beat by beat as the room was enveloped by light.
Everyone else had finished screaming in panic by this point, but just before I passed out with them, I saw something I could only describe as an angel.
I don't know why, but right before I passed out, I had this feeling. The feeling that this was only the beginning. And then it was lights out.
Hey! thanks for reading this piece of trashes first chapter. it’s gonna get pretty weird from here. If you have any tips on what I should do to improve, throw it at me in the comments!
