Chương 19: Chapter 18: Getting Self-Conscious about Certain Things

[Miko's POV]

After securing the base and falna, we discussed our next course of action. Takemikazuchi-sama told us to register in the guild as adventurers. It is essential for to register so that they can track their progress of their exploration, as well as gives us services and advices.

We then dismissed our discussion and we all went to sleep for tomorrow. However, before I went to sleep, I have something need to do. I gathered all of my weapons and equipment from room and place them in the floor. I have been thinking about the assessment of my parameters and status for a while because one skill in particular that caught my attention, the Kitsune no Sōko (Fox's Storage).

I picked up the Kagura Suzu and tried to shove it to the first tail. When I did that, my hand sinks to where I shoved the bell and a faint glow came out of the tail. Then when I pulled out of hand, the Kaguya Suzu was gone. I assumed that the bell went to the sub dimensional storage.

I remembered that if I snap my finger while thinking about the chosen stored object, then the object will appear in your hand. I tried snapping my finger to try.

*snap*

A faint glow with the shape of the Kaguya Suzu appeared out of nowhere and the bell landed at my hand. I checked the condition of the bell and when I do it looks just fine. It seems to be the skill is working smooth and nicely.

I then shove the bell back to the tail and I also shoved the other weapons to each of my tail. I made another test run and the weapons appeared to my hand just fine as well. I also learned that if I imagine the weapon to return to the dimensional storage, the weapon I held glowed and disappeared. This method is much better than shoving the weapon back to the tail.

After testing out the Kitsune no Sōko, I went to sleep so I can prepare myself for the next day event.

On the next day, I woke up early and got up from the bed. I went downstairs and take a wash.

While I am washing, I realized that my breast had grown bigger than before. I remembered having a small chest I first woke up and now it has changed in a blink of an eye. I wasn't this conscious about my body before when I am washing. I then look at myself in the mirror and saw that my face is looking more mature than before. The childish face of the girl who lost her mother was gone and womanly face was replaced.

Now that I think about it, if I remember correctly, I am at least 14 years old right now. I was too occupied with other things that I didn't know that my body had grown so much for the last four years since I woke up falling from the sky. Perhaps my fused soul realized it right now.

I evaluate all of my actions I have done before. I have decided, I will act more mature and become more sensitive about myself.

After getting bath, I went back to my room to get dress. As I am getting dress, I noticed how exposed my skin are with the clothing I have. No wonder I caught the attention of people when I first entered Orario. Not only that, my nine tails are also part of the attention.

What could I do? Should I change how I dress or...

I remembered that I have a scroll that has the [Seal of Presence Concealment] that I had received from Tsukuyomi-sama before I left the Far East. I search through the drawer and found my set of scrolls. I look for the [Seal of Presence Concealment] and found it.

The seal allowed me to decrease my presence from my surrounding, making me slightly invisible from the people on a certain distance. I read the content of the scroll and followed the instruction.

I took a pocket knife from my storage and pricked my finger. I drop a blood on the palm of my other hand and draw the seal. The seal lit up and it disappeared from my hand. However, the effect of the seal might have work. I tidy myself up and stored the rest of the scrolls in my tail.

I went down the stairs and to the courtyard.

[Third POV]

The whole familia members are waiting at the courtyard. They are waiting for Miko who is taking so long to prepare.

"What is Miko-san taking so long" Kashima said with a slightly impatient expression.

"Yeah, I saw her room getting dress up but I don't know why she is still not coming out" Mikoto added as she is also getting impatient.

"Please wait you two, she might be preparing the stuffs she needs to bring" Hitachi tried to calm the two people down.

"Ara~ You guys must be waiting for me, my bad" Miko said as she appears between Kashima and Mikoto without them noticing.

""Wah!"" The two got surprised by Miko's sudden appearance.

"Miko-san?! Since when you were here?" Mikoto quickly asked

"About a few minutes ago. You three were too busy to notice me, so I just slip myself in"

"How did you do that, Miko-san" Kashima inquired

"Hmm? Ah, it is because a seal I used"

"Seal?"

"Umu, I used the [Seal of Presence Concealment], I can adjust my presence so people will not stare at me funny, as well as.... avoid the gaze of a certain goddess" she said as she looks at the tower of Babel.

"I see. Now, that you are here, we can go to the guild to register as adventurers" Kashima declared

The group walks away from the base and towards the guild

Miko looks up at tower one last time

'I know you are watching, whoever you are'

Then turn back and followed the group

Meanwhile on the top of the tower of Babel, a certain goddess is looking down at the city below,

The goddess has silver long hair and purple eyes. She wore a very exposed black dress with red highlights. She has a very malicious and curious expression at her face. The goddess in question is Freya.

Freya has the habit of looking at the soul of the people throughout the city. She looks at the color of one's soul and decides whether she could take them or not. She saw many souls come and go in the city, most of them vary from one another. Some were colored, some were bright, and some were dark.

However, currently she is watching a certain person that pique her interest ever since they entered the city.

That person is Yae Miko

The person she is currently is a peculiar looking renard with nine tails. However, that wasn't the reason she was interested. Rather, she was interested about the uniqueness of her soul.

Her soul is mixed of two souls blended together as a new one, but there's more to it. She sensed portion of two souls separated from her soul. Those portions had the same colors as the new soul.

"This woman is quite interesting"

"How so, Lady Freya" A large muscular Boaz with brown hair and eyes along with a pair of boar ears.

"That woman has a fused soul and two halves seperated from her. Those halves are seemed to be bounded to objects"

"That is quite bizarre"

"I know, I can't wait-" Freya was cut mid-sentence and looked quite surprise

"What's wrong, Lady Freya?"

"S-she disappeared"

"What?!"

"I mean, not completely, but the strength of her soul's presence suddenly dropped"

"That is quite troublesome, do you wish me to get her?"

"No, not for now. her soul wasn't that quite appetizing yet"

"I see. Very well then"

The two continued to watch Miko's weak presence, Freya tried to increase her awareness and reveals Miko's hidden presence. However, she wasn't expected on what she is seeing

"Oh? She noticed us? What's quite rare. No one had noticed my gaze before, absolutely outstanding. Let's see what else you are capable of, dear little fox"

She keeps her eye on Miko, was surprised again when Miko noticed her. She laughs at that feat she made and continued watching her for the rest of the day.

Hello everyone, Author-san here,

I know it is absolute bullsh*t that Miko can see Freya, but I guess it is she had the ability to see someone's gaze.

I don't know why I included this ability, but it made Miko more aware of her surroundings with gods and goddesses, especially Freya.
