In the beginning of the universe, both positive and negative energy came into existence.
Positive energy formed positive and negative particles, while negative energy created gravitational fields and energy, making everything negative, which is hard to comprehend. However, just like the introduction of the Big Bang theory, it makes a lot of things easier to understand.
The Big Bang started from a singularity, meaning there was no time, space, or matter, and everything was zero.
As the Big Bang began, energy and matter were created. But if there was only positive energy, then there wouldn't have been a state of zero, implying the existence of negative energy, making the Big Bang theory reasonable. Otherwise, before the Big Bang, there wouldn't have been zero, but one or more, which would overturn the Big Bang theory, and instead, there would be a steady-state universe.
In other words, our universe didn't start with a singularity explosion but was formed from the death of a massive black hole in a larger universe.
Although a long time has passed, the main factions within the Civilized Federation still uphold the Big Bang theory because there is too much evidence, so much so that it's hard for life not to believe it. Unless a being can travel beyond the universe and reach its outer limits, they can never truly know the essence of the universe.
Ella has already confirmed the existence of negative energy, further proving the correctness and reasonableness of the Big Bang theory.
The definition of positive and negative energy is based on the zero-point energy of a vacuum, which is the energy of quantum fluctuations at absolute zero.
Many people believe that at absolute zero, everything would stop, but that's not entirely accurate.
If everything stopped, it would prove that everything could be precisely measured, which contradicts Heisenberg's uncertainty principle proposed in 1927, which states that it is impossible to simultaneously determine the position and momentum of a fundamental particle with precision.
Why is it impossible to determine?
When you observe the particle you want to measure, your observation influences that particle, so the result you measure is always affected by your influence and not the particle's original state.
Breaking the uncertainty principle, or creating certainty, is the prerequisite for creating causality weapons.
Based on the uncertainty principle and zero-point energy, if the energy of a substance in a vacuum at absolute zero is lower than the quantum fluctuation energy of the surrounding space, it is negative energy. Conversely, if it is higher, it is positive energy.
Zero-point energy has been proven to exist due to the detection of electromagnetic fluctuations at zero-point vacuum, which produces usable force. After mastering the four fundamental forces, Ella has been trying to control negative energy.
But this is very difficult. Negative energy can be observed, but controlling it means controlling gravitational fields, which is a different level of control compared to the previous one.
Controlling the four fundamental forces means being able to apply them, while controlling negative energy requires a deeper analysis of gravity.
It's like the difference between controlling a pistol and controlling the bullets it fires.
However, controlling negative energy has nothing to do with more skilled applications of gravity; that's the task of dark energy.
Everything about negative energy is negative, which means it can cancel out positive energy. Positive energy includes all matter in the current universe and all energy except for negative energy, including dark energy, which is also positive energy. Antimatter is also positive energy.
This implies that if one possesses a sufficient amount of negative energy, they can defend against all positive energy attacks.
At the same time, since negative energy itself is the energy of a gravitational field, it can affect gravity weapons.
This is an all-purpose thing.
Negative energy can create warp engines, and it's very cost-effective. Creating a warp bubble with a diameter of 100 meters only requires the energy of one universe, and to keep this warp bubble in existence, it needs to burn more of the universe, burning one universe per second.
"This absolute defense can currently only withstand an energy output of 1 x 10^24 watts or a one-time energy strike of 1 x 10^27 joules," Ella said, feeling that the Wind was insufficient.
The production of negative energy requires the annihilation of matter and antimatter, and it is a very inefficient production method. We have not yet found a more suitable way to mass-produce negative energy.
"But it's a start, right?"
Yan Xia is quite optimistic about this technology.
There is as much negative energy in the universe as there is positive energy, so negative energy mines are very abundant, waiting to be developed by civilizations.
At this stage, the Wind can be used to weaken the gravitational weapons of the Olive Branch civilization.
The energy output of gravitational weapons is not very high; the real energy consumption is the energy required to launch the gravitational weapons. Imagine a bullet with a charge of one ton; the most significant aspect of gravitational weapons is their mysterious nature. Destroying a galaxy is a matter of superimposition, enhancing the already massive gravitational pull of a star to destroy it.
According to Ella's calculations, at this stage, the Wind can completely withstand 60 to 100 times the power of the Olive Branch civilization's gravitational weapons, and in 1000 years, it can withstand about 10 to 20 times the power.
Of course, if we can find a way to mass-produce negative energy, such as turning the time of all biological workers in the Civilized Federation into 007 (just a joke).
"Hmm, the development prospects of this technology are enormous. However, the annihilation of positive and negative energy will release a massive amount of energy. I am currently researching a way for the Anonymous Star to absorb this energy."
"If we can utilize the enemy's energy, we can stand invincible even with a 0.2 or 0.3-level gap."
Of course, the prerequisite is that the opponent does not have more powerful weapons, such as causality or dimensional weapons, but these weapons are not within the capabilities of a Level 2 civilization.
If they do have them, then not using these weapons is the same as being able to destroy us.
After finishing their tour of the interstellar port, Ella took Yan Xia to the Mobius Ring World, which Ella named Infinity.
The name was inspired by the infinity symbol, but the Infinity World didn't sound good, so she chose the similar-sounding Infinity.
This naming style...
Yan Xia didn't have time to complain because they had already arrived in the airspace above the Infinity World. From here, they could see the overall structure of the Infinity World and the Place of the Gods, which were indeed similar. However, there were many satellites floating in the air here.
These satellites were for monitoring the Infinity World and for communication.
Compared to laying cables on the ground, the air is undoubtedly more convenient and saves materials.
Moreover, these satellites are no more than 300,000 kilometers from the ground, with a delay of within two seconds, which is similar to being on the ground. There is no need to worry about signal stability and strength.
"These satellites are not only for these functions; they are also individual hosts. These hosts, together with the hosts installed inside the Mobius Ring World, form a matrix, which constitutes me."
Ella's current host is here, controlling this world.
"Okay, below is the Mozi Academy."
Ella brought up a map.
Yan Xia saw that the Mozi Academy occupied an area of 3.2 million square kilometers, which is... quite a lot.
Ella plans to make the Mozi Academy the first academy of the future Civilized Federation, with a faculty and student body of around 100 million.
