"Speak up."
He glanced sideways.
Those eyes were still cold and distant, widening the gap between them.
Lola Hussey regretted what she had said to him. He had been planning their future together while she had been considering everything but him.
She felt guilty for realizing her mistake.
"If there's nothing else, go back. I'm going to Manor Island tonight and I'll probably be busy afterwards. But you needn't worry, I won't have much time, so I won't disturb you," he said indifferently.
His tone was heavy with aloofness.
Upon hearing this, Lola felt an unbearable pain in her chest.
She pursed her lips and whispered, "I'm sorry..."
"What?" He didn't hear her clearly and asked her to repeat.
Lola pursed her lips higher, her voice even softer, "I'm sorry..."
"Say it again."
"I'm sorry, I really am, I won't say such things again, please don't be angry." She bowed her head low, her guilt and inability to face him made her voice barely audible.
