Harry had never practiced Potions and he did not want to make a fool of himself in front of snape, so by helping Susan, he first decided to accumulate experience using his system before trying it himself. By the end of class, by strictly following Snape's instructions, Susan and Harry were able to make the potion perfectly.
"Acceptable, minus 20 points from Ravenclaw for pushing all your work on your benchmate and not following teacher's instructions." Snape said languidly. It was clear to everyone that he was doing this to disgust and anger Harry. He was blatantly using his position to suppress him while making a statement that they, the students, can't do anything about it.
"Are you sure, professor? " Harry asked raising his brow. He really wanted to give Snape that last chance because of his mother but that doesn't mean he would let anyone walk all over him.
"Minus 5 points for your cheek, Potter. Don't teach me how to do things. Now, get out.." Snape waved his hand as if shooing some beggar.
His actions really did manage to anger Harry. "Very well, professor.. " He said looking coldly into Snape's eyes.
Harry started walking towards the Flitwick's office. "Harry, where are you going?" Susan asked worriedly while his other classmates looked on from the sides. Hermione had almost cursed Snape in anger only to be stopped by Daphne.
"Someone has been living so well all these years that he has forgotten what it means to be scared. Since he wants his ego to be crushed then I am willing to fulfill his wish." Harry said coldly. Just then Flitwick walked out of his office.
"Harry!. I was just about to come find you. Let's go, Headmaster Dumbledore wants to meet you." He said, then paused looking at angry looks on the students' faces. " What's going on? Why are you all so angry."
Hermione came forward to tell him everything that happened.
"How dare he.. Does he think he can do whatever he wants just because we have been tolerating his behavior all these years." Flitwick thundered.
"Hermione, go to professor McGonagall's office and tell her to come to the Headmasterter's office. We will be waiting for her at the entrance there.
Let's go, Harry. We will talk as we walk."
Harry and Professor Filius met with McGonagall and told her everything.
"Don't worry Harry. I'll seek justice for you." McGonagall assured Harry, worriedly looking at him. She herself was filled with rage but Harry was carrying a calm expression, too calm that made Filius and McGonagall nervous inwardly.
"No professor. I myself will deal with this matter. I just want the both of you to be ever ready to defend if a situation arises. You both standing there supporting me would be more than enough for me." Harry said with a calm expression and made his way towards Dumbledore's office.
Inside they found Hogwarts' resident bat sitting, probably telling Dumbledore his own version of the story and the results of his investigation.
"Harry, how have you been my boy. Minerva, Filius, I will take care of the matters here, You both can be assured of that. I would not want to trouble you out of your busy schedule." One had to accept that Dumbledore had created such an image of himself that most of the people are easily influenced by his actions and follow his words. His presence alone demanded everyone's attention and recognition.
"Albus, we are here because Harry here doesn't feel safe in your presence being alone. Moreover Severus's actions also don't help in this matter.
So Filius and I have decided to stay here for Harry's sake and to also ensure his safety if need arises." McGonagall said sternly. he eyes spitting fire towards Snape who just sneered.
"Minerva, it pains me to hear you say this. Harry is merely a child and what happened was not something so severe to warrant those statements from both of you. You both have been following me all these years, you should know that I'm not the type to harm a student." Dumbledore said with genuine sadness.
"Professor! Let me-" Just as McGonagall and Filius were about to reply Harry interrupted them, only to himself be interrupted by Snape.
"Such an uncultured boy - just like his father- both very rude and arrogant."
"If your childish tantrums have been delivered then you can shut up now. I don't know what my father was like but I'm sure he was a better and bigger man than you could ever dream to be in your life." Harry snapped at Snape before talking to Dumbledore, not at all giving Snape any chance to reply, leaving him seeth in anger.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, when Hagrid came to pick me up, he had nothing but praise for you. He also told me that Hogwarts will be my home, where I'll be wanted.
But it seems people are right in their opinion about Hagrid. He truly is naive. Because if you really had been that great of a man, you would not have accepted such an incompetent tutor like him to teach at Hogwarts. He might be one of the best Potion masters out there but he is a bad man and a worse teacher.
As for Hogwarts, it is only my first day here technically. It was my first class, my first impression of the Wizarding world as well as Hogwarts, and I have to say Professor Snape here doesn't paint a good picture of it." Harry took a deep breath after saying all this.
"Harry, Severus has been my confident from a long time and I have no doubt about his capabilities. There must have been some misunderstandings between both of you." Dumbledore was still playing his own tune without paying any heed to Harry's words at all.
"Professor Flitwick, I have heard that there are ways to view memories in the Wizarding world. Is that true? " Harry turned to ask Filius since Dumbledore was not ready to listen to him.
