"You…" Dane opened and closed his mouth like a fish, in disbelief at the person in the same cabin as him. "You're dead."
Was this a mirage? A hallucination? A vengeful ghost?
Impossible.
All those things could only happen if Dane had a mental illness or was stricken with guilt. He got neither of them.
Dominic slowly lifted his sharp eyes in Dane's direction, saying, "So was Dane Zhang." His voice was low — even harsher than his usual tone.
"No," Dane staggered back. "You're dead. I saw you —"
Dane halted as realization struck him. His eyes slowly went wider, thinking the person he had seen die might not be Dominic. There was someone who looked exactly like Dominic. But Dane already ordered someone to kill Silas inside the prison.
"How?" he breathed out, the synapses in his brain flicking rhythmically. "Silas should have been dead."
