Chương 60: Tournament, (7)
I was debating between two things, 1. if I should hit Mio with lightning or 2. continue burning through my mana by making a ton of lightning strikes to destroy her weapons made from the earth element that are being fired at me in groups of 10.
'I'll shoot lightning at her but she probably knows I'll do that and form a sort of shield above her made with her earth element so I'll have to put in enough strength to break through the shield and damage her quite a bit.' I thought as I willed my lightning to strike down upon Mio.
I poured in enough power into my lightning strike I was gathering so I could penetrate her earth shield and injure her.
I focused my intention into my lightning and shot it at Mio.
Just as I thought, she made a strong shield of earth above her head but she didn't know that the shield she made wouldn't be enough to block this attack.
The lighting collided with the shield and shot right through it and directly hit Mio.
"Ack-" Mio groaned as she got struck .
Her hair had gone slightly, and noticeably, static and I had greatly weakened her.
"I didn't think you would be able to make it through my shield." Mio said with a nervous chuckle.
I ignored her and shot five wind bullets at her. Upper arm on both her left and right sides as well as her thigh on both left and right sides. I also struck her abdomen with th fifth bullet.
Each time she hit hit with a bullet it drew blood and the blow to the abdomen caused her to cough some up.
"Ouch." Mio chuckled.
I just stared at her with a blank face.
She began to create a massive boulder above her head and held up her arm.
"I guess this is my final attack as I'm so injured from that lightning strike you pulled off. I'll put most of my remaining MP into this so be careful." Mio said with a smile as she lowered her arm and with it came the massive boulder and it was aimed right at me.
'How should I do this.. dodge? No, I mean I could but I needed a little test. I'll use a wind barrier around me and I'll use a lightning barrier as well. I'll aim my sword up and find the weak point of the boulder and aim the tip of my sword to collide with it. All my skills will be reactivated, the ones I used previously at least, which are [Inferno] [Fire blade] [Wind enhancer] and [Lightning enhancer] though both enhancer skills are still active so I just need to apply them to Adonis. I'll also create some wind and fire bullets and aim them at the weak point while the boulder is falling and before my sword and the boulder collide. Hm.. this might work.'
I began to put my plan into action as I transformed Adonis back into a katana and then activated [Inferno] and [Fire blade] before creating fifth-teen wind bullets and fire bullets each. I quickly looked all over the boulder to find an area that seemed weaker than the rest. There was a small dent that had a slight crack to it so I fired off the bullets at that small focus point and then held up Adonis with the tip facing directly at the boulders weakest point.
The weak points cracks grew and grew until all my bullets had already made impact and it was only a matter of seconds before my sword did the same.
The boulder kept falling and collided with the tip of my blade, Adonis, and my sword wedged it's way into the crack and the boulder split. Not into two pieces but into multiple smaller pieces of boulder. There was about five but there was still two bigger pieces and the smaller bits of boulder just kind of fell off.
The boulder fell to the ground and I floated there with my sword in the same position.
"Wow. Didn't think you'd be able to defend against that. I thought you would've dodged it. I guess that it's my loss, I'm basically out of mana and I'm physically drained." Mio said as she broke the platform she was on and fell to the ground and landing gracefully on the ground, one foot after the other so I floated down and did the same.
Mio walked over to me and stood in front of me. She couldn't do anything that would catch me off guard so I allowed her to get close.
"I'd like to be friends with you." Mio said to me with a smile.
"I don-" I began to speak but was cut off.
"I'm not taking no for an answer by the way." Mio said.
"Okay." I said totally unbothered.
Mio held out her hand so I shook it and she gripped my hand tightly before pulling me in and slashed, well attempted to slash, at my neck. I used [Flash steps] and went behind her and held my sword to her neck.
"Worth a try." Mio said as she turned around, "It's my loss, I'm serious about being friends though." She smiled at her last sentence.
"WOOOOOOOOOO-!" The crowd began to cheer and clap as they stood up, probably since this was the last fight.
"Well ladies and gentlemen, that was the final battle between Kiera and Mio with the winner being Kiera! Well done to all the participants! There will be a party held after this so please make your way to the main hall. Thank you everyone for watching! The rest of the tournament games will be held tomorrow until Tuesday since it is already late. Thank you all again and I hope you have a pleasant night." Callum said before coming over to me and placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Hahaha Kiera! You were great." Callum laughed.
"You'll be coming to the party right? Mio said as she leaned towards me with her hands clasped behind her back.
"I don't know. I might." I said as I wasn't sure if I wanted to join in.
Tess came over to me and stared at me.
"Yes?" I said.
"You will be coming, right? I don't want to go alone." Tess said.
'Do you really want to?' I asked Tess through telepathy.
'Of course! I don't trust myself to get back though as before you came here I attended a party and I was a mess getting back to the dorms so you will be helping me if you come.' Tess directed her thoughts at me with a smile.
'Fine.' I thought to Tess.
"Yay!" Tess shouted before turning to Callum, "when is the party?"
"In about an hour from now so at 22:15." Callum said, "and why are you cheering?"
"Kiera said she would come to the party!" Tess said with excitement.
"When?" Callum questioned.
"That doesn't matter. I'm going to take a shower." I said as I began to walk off with Tess beside me and Mio running up to me.
"Can I come to your apartment?" Mio asked.
"Why's that?" Tess replied with a question of her own.
"Just because I wanted to. So can I?" Mio said.
"Sure I don't mind." Tess said with a smile and spring in her step.
"Whatever." I said with a blank look.
We walked back to our dorm room with Mio and entered it. Catherine was laying on her bed, asleep.
"Was Catherine sleeping through the tournament?" Tess asked.
"Why would I know." I said back to Tess as I went to my wardrobe.
"Let me pick your outfit! You've got curves and a pretty face so we need to give you good clothing to compliment that." Tess said as she rummaged through my wardrobe.
"Oh? Let me help." Mio said coming over.
"Sure." I said as I walked over to the bathroom.
'Why do they care about my outfit? As long as it covers me it is serving it's purpose?' I thought as I entered the bathroom.
