Chương 70: Encountering some apes.
"Go on! Explain! Explain to us why in the hell have you come back with the princess unconscious, what did you do to her! Be quick or I'll send your head flying!" The enraged knight said as he inched his sword closer to my neck.
"I went on a walk in the forest, the princess followed me. I killed three deer and cooked them after that I gave a skewer to the princess and we continued walking. We got close to a dragon's territory and it came to us saying if we don't leave it will kill us and so on. The princess told me to kill it and angered the dragon so I knocked her out to stop her from making things worse than they already were and apologised to the dragon who then let us go with a warning." I explained with a deadpan expression.
"You dare lay your hands on royalty!" The knight said as he almost swung his sword at my neck but I grabbed the sword and crushed it in my hand.
"It was necessary. Also how else did you expect me to take her back here without me physically touching her? Actually now that I think of it I could have used magic." I said.
"What's going on with all the shouting?" Scarlet said as she came to stand next to the knights.
"This, this.. girl.. she came back with the princess unconscious so I got her to explain. The princess is unconscious from her doing. She should be punished accordingly." The other knight said but much calmer than the other one that tried to behead me.
"Kiera. *sigh* explain." Scarlet said with a sigh and a slight shake of her head.
"I'll say it again, I went on a walk in the forest, the princess followed me. I explained for the second time.
"That is a fair reason. There is no reason to be so angry. Kiera saved them both from being killed by that dragon, it was necessary to stop the princess from making the dragon angrier and killing them." Scarlet sighed but the knights didn't seem happy with the outcome.
"Humph, whatever. I shall take my leave." The knight who's sword I shattered said and the other calmer one followed him.
"Kiera, how did you already get into trouble and find a dragon?" Scarlet asked.
"Not a clue." I replied with a small shrug.
Scarlet and I walked back to the group and we then all proceeded with our walk and continued on into the forest.
"Why did you want to go into the forest." Tess asked me while walking next to me at the back of the group.
"Just because I felt like it."
"I heard the knights got angry with you, why?"
"The princess followed me, we encountered another dragon and it told us to leave or die. The princess angered it by telling me to kill it so I knocked her out." I said but I shortened it since I wasn't going to repeat the same thing for the third time now.
"Why did they get angry at that? It was reasonable for you to do that in that situation." Tess said as she faced forward.
"Don't ask me, I haven't a clue."
We continued on further into the forest and came across some goblins and demonic wolves but nothing serious. I didn't get to kill any as the knights would tell us not to fight the monsters and for us to let them handle it.
Tess kept talking to me about some random things that came to her mind while we walked at a decent pace through the dense forest. There was lots of noise around us from monsters and I could feel some in my [Spacial awareness] like wolves, goblins, slimes, occasionally ogres and lots of apes. All the noise was somewhat distracting but I could deal with it. The others, not so much.
I could feel loads of apes closing in around us as we slowly came to a halt.
"There are monsters surrounding us, we all need to fight. There is about 78 apes." The calm knight said.
'That's wrong.' I thought as I used [Spacial awareness] to get a grasp on how many there actually was while using all of my enhanced senses.

The user passively knows where and what's happening in a 4 mile radius around you and heightens your senses by 25 fold. (You can change it so only some senses get enhanced since it can be bothering) While asleep this skill is active as it is the evolved skill of [Spacial awareness]. The radius in which you can sense what is happening can increase.

'Damn that's a lot of information being constantly pumped into my brain. 4 miles is a lot. Though I can sense everything now which helps. I'm sure I'll get use to it.' I thought as I put my hand to my forehead and rubbed it a little.
'Anyway there is a lot more than 78. 304. That's only in the immediate area. They are the group that are attacking.' I thought.
"There is more than 78." I said to Tess as I transformed Adonis into a katana and set it ablaze.
"Yeah? How many then?" She asked.
"304."
"That knight made a terrible miscalculation or something." Tess giggled.
"Engage whenever!" The knight that was angry at me before shouted.
The students drew their weapons and began to fight. I used [Flash steps] to get behind the group of apes.
I swung my sword horizontally and cleanly sliced through the torso of an ape which then began to burn to ash from the flames surrounding my blade. Some other apes took notice of this and jumped at me.
I twirled my sword around and struck them apes down. All five of them. They began to burn from where they had been cut and the ones which I dealt a heavy blow to died while those which I inflicted minor injuries just burnt and squealed in pain.
Putting them out of their misery i cleanly sliced of their heads and began to fight some more which turned away from the others and decided to attack me.
'The knights should have easily dealt with all of these so why make us fight them?' I thought to myself as I killed another two apes.
'Whatever. Free EXP.'
