Romulus was gone by the time Dahlia awoke and she would have thought that what happened yesterday was a dream if not for the fact that her center throbbed and she still could smell his scent on the sheet.

Dahlia sat up at once searching for traces of his seed on the material. If the maids were to find that and gossip, it could pose an unnecessary problem for her in this competition, after all, none of them knew that she was sleeping with the vampire king and might assume that she was doing it with someone else that she has no clue about. 

After all, why would the vampire king sneak into the lady's quarters just to copulate with her? No one would think that was possible. Even Dahlia found that hard to believe.
