66.66% I Got Reincarnated Into Another World with an Obscure Powerset / Chapter 6: The Interrogation About Cellphones... In Another World

Chương 6: The Interrogation About Cellphones... In Another World

A truly strange experience was just experienced by me. I mean, it's not every day one is violently interrogated due to mentioning an item or two from your previous world. I might be wrong, but that doesn't seem like a normal thing that occurs. But yet, there I was: Being violently interrogated for mentioning an item from my previous world…

"Why the hell do you know about Cellular Telephones!?"

A woman who stood uncomfortably close to me pointed her finger against my right cheek whilst yelling.

I backed up my chair and threw my hands up in the air, I said

"I don't know! I'm pretty sure we're not even talking about the same thing!"

The Girl looked at me with a worried facial expression and nodded her head towards the interrogator.

The interrogator shook her head slowly and asked

"If that's the case, how about you show us what you meant, then."

I looked at The Girl, and we looked at each other for a couple of seconds before I turned my head and we both said in unison

"Eh…?"

The Interrogator lifted her head up a little bit and explained

"That's natural, isn't it? Project Cellular Phone is a top-secret project even within the guild. Only top-level people within the guild know about it. This is not a joke, do you understand?"

I raised my eyebrows in surprise and said

"Fine!"

I reached into my pockets to search for the damn machine. When I reached down my pockets, I noticed the soft feeling of plastic that I was looking for. Since I usually wore pants with relatively big pockets, I couldn't tell if my phone was in my pocket based on if I felt it against my leg. As I pulled out my phone, a feeling of relief and recognition surrounded my brain.

I proudly handed the phone to the interrogator, who gazed at the object with an unknowing aura.

She quickly turned to her left and mumbled

"where did I leave that prototype now…?"

While she was looking for the alleged 'prototype', I started thinking a bit and came to a certain conclusion pretty quickly. I immediately tried to get out what I thought by saying

"So you're saying that this project is so secretive, yet someone like you know quite a bit about it. I don't mean to offend you, but working with registrations at a desk isn't one of the higher positions in guilds. So, either you're lying or we're on some sort of weird game-show and are about to receive some cool gifts.

Which one is it, Mrs. Registrations-girl?"

The Girl stared at me and suddenly had an 'Ah'-experience, as she was realizing what my point was.

Registrations-girl stopped her searching and turned to us. She then said

"Seems like you're quite clever, Mr. Someone."

I immediately frowned upon the answer and said

"No, no, no. I'm sure pretty much anyone could come to that conclusion. You just need to put two and two together.

Also, please do not call me 'someone'. I have an embarrassing memory of me identifying myself like that."

The Girl smiled at me when I mentioned the latter part. I clenched my fist and thought

-Damn you, The Girl. Damn you! -

The interrogator, or Mrs. Registrations-girl as her alias was, decided to somewhat ignore my statement and continued

"I did lie to you.

But not in the way you thought I did.

I'm actually… The Vice Guild Master of The Godly and Goldy Guild!"

Wow… That reveal was incredibly underwhelming and totally stupid.

I immediately started to comment on the reveal by slowly clapping

*Clap...*

*Silence*

*Clap...*

*Silence*

*CLAP!*

I got a bit frustrated at the slow pace of my clapping, so I really slammed my hands together in the last one.

I then said with an incredibly sarcastic voice and emotionless face

"Wow…

I am so surprised at this shoooocking reveal..."

The interrogator immediately started blushing in embarrassment and yelled

"At least act surprised!"

and threw 5 pieces of paper at me.

I squealed shortly out of sheer surprise but stopped as soon as I realized I was doing it because it was seriously embarrassing.

"I guess I'll add that to the list..." I mumbled to myself in embarrassment.

As I imprinted my mistake into the history books, my eyes caught sight of the contents of the papers that were thrown.

The title of the first paper simply stated

"Project Radiator:

(Note: It's a unit that heats up the room)"

"PRO-----"

Is all I managed to get out before being kicked by The Girl. I immediately stopped when I realized why she did that.

- I'd better not say anything, We'll for sure get in more trouble if the Vice Guild Master finds out about me finding out that they're finding out how to make radiators. Damn you, Interrogator! You just made this situation so much more difficult! I have to hide these papers, somehow. Otherwise, she'll find out.

But when I think about it, could it be that this 'Torishi whatever'-guy also reincarnated into this world? These 'top-secret' papers seem to indicate that… But who knows, this is another world after all. Everything seems to be possible. -

Thankfully, while I and The Girl were finding out about the new project, The Interrogator was distracted by trying to find her prototype.

I looked around the room to find a place to place the papers. To my direct left, there was a metal desk, similar to the one to my right. To my right was The Girl, and the aforementioned desk, and also a confused Interrogator.

- There really is nothing in this room… Guess I'll just have to put the papers on the desk next to me next to all of the other stacks of papers.-

I leaned forth a tiny bit and twisted my torso and reached out my hand to place the papers among the others on the metal desk.

*Crack*

Something suddenly cracked in my right shoulder, at one of the worst times possible. To my horror, I noticed a certain someone turning in the corner of my eye.

- What the hell!? I know I should've trained more in my previous life, this is the consequences I have to reap now! I have to do some quick thinking… or else... -

When I was looking around for something to do before I was caught by The Vice Guild Master, I realized what the answer was:

Self-harm.

The incredibly dark and dangerous topic of self-harm was the answer to my current situation. It wasn't really something that I wanted to do, but desperate situations call for desperate measures.

I put a lot of more weight into the front of me, causing me to fall towards the ground.

I experienced the fall in slow motion for some reason, although that worked out for the better. I waited for the right moment, and right before I slammed into the ground, I slid the papers underneath the metallic desk that had been next to me. The force I used for the action caused the scene to look quite dramatic, but the satisfaction from that wouldn't really last long…

*SLAM*

-OOOUUUUCCCHHH!!! I REGRET IT, PLEASE JUST LET ME GET CAUGHT INSTEAD!-

I instantly started rolling on the floor after the immense pain that was dealt to me. The Girl just stared at me with a strange mix between a sympathetic and a sadistic face, making me curse the fate that I chose for myself. Not only that, but the face The Interrogator was making as she turned around and stared down at me was the face of a mother looking at her child after the child had severely disappointed its parent. As I realized the path of consequences that I'd chosen, I slammed my right hand into the floor as a classic shonen protagonist would.

To follow with the metaphor, as the aforementioned mother would do, The Interrogator waltzed over to my broken self and put her hand onto my shoulder and said

"It's fine. We all make weird decisions at times."

I instantly shouted

"DAMN, That hurt even more!

How about you ask how I'm feeling, or something!?"

The interrogator smiled lightly and said without hesitation

"I don't care about how you're feeling."

"OUCH, direct attack. I would say that's a solid 36,78 HP Attack.

Only 1 HP remaining at this point"

The Girl decided to take advantage of the situation and said

"I can relate to that feeling, Mrs. Interrogator"

I immediately grab my chest and yell

"0!!!! No, -35,78 HP!!!!!"

As a response, The Girl simply laughed out a bit.

The Interrogator just shook her head and instantly remembered something

"Oh, I remember! I left my prototype under the metal desk here."

I slowly panned my head towards the glaring smile of The Interrogator and got a wry smile on my face. A quiet, but audible, "Eh?" was pushed through my vocal cords and out of my mouth.

- What…?

What?

What!?

WHAT!!?

You have got to be kidding me! All of my effort and pain, and I don't even get to get away with it!? I've never felt this defeated before. But that's a lie, I definitely felt more defeated at the 'spinning event'.

I've felt nothing but pain after coming to this damned world...-

I just sat in silence as I witnessed The Interrogator walk slowly but surely to the metal desk, and then crouched down to get a view of the contents under the metal desk.

As she crouched down, I held my breath and closed my eyes in anticipation for the forthcoming storm of shit. Before closing my eyes, I witnessed The girl do the same thing.

-

'The only thing I could see at this point was black, reflecting my current mental state.'

That sounds like an overly pretentious sentence you'd see in a light novel trying to be edgier than it actually is. The real question is though: WHY THE FUCK DID THAT GET INTO MY HEAD AT THIS MOMENT!?

And the answer is:

Because I don't know.

Also, everything I can see is black at this point, but that doesn't quite reflect my current mental state. My current mental state is more of a bright red because I'm pissed as hell!-

The Interrogator reached under the desk and felt the touch of things that used to be trees, namely paper!

She pulled them out and looked at them for a couple of seconds and then proceeded to turn towards me. At this point, I had opened my eyes because it was really boring to have them closed.

She squinted her eyes in suspicion and I could basically hear her piece all of it together. A couple seconds of dramatic silence followed, with me staring at The Interrogator with a blank facial expression.

The Interrogator then just carefully placed the papers on top of the desk and continued to look for the prototype.

- SHE'S STUPID!-

during my shock, I looked to my left and noticed that The Girl had the same shocked expression, prompting me to laugh lightly.

After some more searching, The Interrogator finally pulled out the damn prototype.

The prototype seemed to be similar to an old flip phone.

I stared at the flip phone with an underwhelming feeling welling up within me.

After comparing the devices for a couple of seconds, The Interrogator shrugged and said

"I guess they're not the same. You're free to go."

I immediately screamed

"You've got to be kidding me! How the hell could you mistake a damn flip phone for a smartphone!? You really wasted our time here!"

Upon saying that, The Interrogator stared at me with an intrigued face and said

"Flip phone, Smartphone, what are those things?"

The Girl ran up to me and basically drop-kicked me into the wall left of me.

*SLAM*

"OUCH!" I screamed out in pain.

The Girl just bowed slightly to The Interrogator and said

"Don't worry about this guy, he has quite a wild fantasy sometimes."

The Interrogator laughed a bit and said

"I see. I'm sorry for wasting your time and being so aggressive to you, Could I help you in any way?"

The Girl thought for a second before coming up with a great solution, she said

"Well… How about you pay for our Registration fee?"

The Interrogator sighed lightly and said

"I guess that's fair enough..."

The Interrogator left the room, leaving the two otherworldly people left.

"What was that for!?" I shouted at The Girl.

The Girl looked at me with a vicious face and said

"It's because you keep spilling information about our origin, be more careful, for crying out loud!"

She then slowly reached out her hand for me to grab. But because I was looking down at the ground, I didn't notice it and stood up by myself. When I actually lifted my head, I was greeted by an embarrassed The Girl ready for murder.

I backed up a step and started running towards the exit. But due to a certain 'Spinning event', She caught up and pushed me against the wall. I simply yelled out

"WHY?"

Sick.

That was the reason no chapters were released. Kind of a weak reason, considering I was quite recently on a Hiatus as well.

And I can't really argue against that, All I can say is that that was the reason for my Hiatus.

This is quite awkward now...

But what situation isn't awkward when I'm involved?
