Chương 23: Powerless

Arisa stormed out of the Training Hall as soon as she saw how Vian jumped to Alastor's side.

"How shameful…"

That noble young lady was now throwing herself at that infamous Alastor who reeked of nothing but suspicious activities, 'How dare she?!'

Just the mere thought of them being childhood friends before made Arisa unable to stop shaking from anger. She did not care when that Vian stopped being her friend, or when she stole the phoenix from her.

Arisa simply did not want to be dragged down by a stupid scandal.

In this world, choosing your friends wisely was important. If your friend had fallen, you may get a bad reputation from it. As the saying goes, birds of the same feathers flock together.

But they had already stopped being on good terms from long ago, which allowed Arisa to calm down slightly.

She found herself standing in front of the principal's office, furrowing her eyebrows, she paused.

"Why am I here?"

No matter how angry she was, she knew she was not moving in this direction. But fine, so be it. An idea had appeared in her head once she remembered the announcement that she heard.

'Alastor is now in class 2. He is with me, hmm…'

What could possibly allow her to keep a close eye on him now, perhaps him running around freely was not the worst.

'Being in a group with her would undoubtedly help me. As for Vian, I am going to chase her away. If I could not do it myself, her family would be taking my wrath.'

Thinking about that also reminded her, 'And that Evan, that piece of shit…'

Arisa opened her palm, allowing her magical book to come out. She ordered.

"Cut the funds of the girl from Kali's family. I have mentioned her before, I take full responsibility for that."

A white page of light was made, and it took the shape of a small bird. Its small wings flapped as it headed away to ensure the message was going to reach its destination.

Arisa then knocked on the door of the principal's office and waited patiently, after around three full minutes, she was granted permission to enter.

Hiding the irritation in her heart, Arisa bowed her head lightly towards the principal who ushered her to sit down.

"Sit down, Princess Arisa."

The principal's long, wavy, green hair was covering her face as she was dealing with some paperwork on her desk.

Without bothering to look up, the principal demanded as politely as she could.

"Please do state your reason for being here, as far as everyone is aware, I am a busy person and I barely entertain meetings in person."

Arisa swallowed her pride and decided to let the principal's attitude pass. Silly princess, she did not know how her words or actions would only be a waste of time.

"I wish to propose a suggestion."

"Which is?"

"I would like the classes to have things akin to official groups."

"Some students have already done that, there is no need for the Academy to force the rest. Some students wish to choose solitary, I suppose your highness would know a thing or two about that."

The firm tone of the principal made Arisa frown, especially with that last remark. The principal finally lifted her gaze, her brown eyes staring right at Arisa.

"Dear Princess, I am kindly reminding you. Despite being a princess, you have no authority over me or over this Academy. Alas, you won't be able to convince your father to back you up as well."

Standing up from her chair, the principal folded her arms behind her back, tilting her head. Her gaze made Arisa angry as it lacked any respect, but she was slapped with the truth.

"I see…"

"If there is nothing else to know, I'd like to ask you to leave. My schedule is quite packed, your highness."

With that, the principal successfully kicked Arisa out of the office, making her helpless.

"Shit…" she hissed, "What am I supposed to do now? I think I could only ask him later…"

Since coming to this Academy, Arisa was slowly feeling how powerless she was. In the palace, she was able to do some things. But the Academy was different… just so different.

Her status meant almost nothing to the higher ups, her power could only throw her in class 2, and now she was feeling utterly useless as she was unable to force Alastor to be by her side.

Arisa was unaware about how someone was watching her, the principal smirked, watching her leaving dejected.

A soft sigh escaped past the principal's lips as she leaned her back on the window's frames.

'Children always believe they are the most important until meeting a real adult who would make sure to put them back in their place.'

Arisa was a child.

Vian also was one.

The principal figured out the connection between them long ago, now that another factor such as Alastor was there…

"That sounds interesting to watch, I may even lend that child a hand," she laughed, remembering Alastor's messed up body.

Then again, she paused. What kind of help would be the best for him? It had been a while since encountering someone who was possessing the Chaos core.

'But his core is broken. If I remember correctly, that kid was caught sneaking with his friend in the ancient ruins. That place was relatively safe, activating that kind of trap was supposed to be impossible.'

Figuring out the complications and implications of that was simple to the principal who had lived for years in this place.

'Another nobility game.'

Her gorgeous face scrunched up as she stretched, that kid was hurt under her gaze. Yet, not only did she not realize that, she was now allowing him to destroy his body obliviously.

"No matter, though," she grabbed a map from her desk, "Helping him is not hard. That Vian is getting closer to him, she may be the perfect person to carry my gift."

Having decided that, the principal went back to finish her paperwork so she could leave and talk with Vian and give her the map.

'Ha. Such a long day.'
