Having disembarked from the train, the sky was considerably dark by now. The sky was stacked with dense layers of dark clouds with only a hole at the point where the sun was, forming a pale yellow cloud halo. It was around five in the evening, and it was almost getting dark.

Casio stepped forward, his shoes stepping on the square platform.

Next to him, by the pillar supporting the metal awnings, two people dressed in the same type of clothing as Casio looked his way.

Casio looked first at the gloomy overhead, then walked over with strides to speak. Behind him, a young man wobbled out of the train door, his eyes ringed with shadows, looking weak as though on the brink of death.

He steadied himself with one hand on the train door frame, stepping down gingerly. The mere ten-centimeter height difference nearly caused the youth to stumble.

Behind him, white steam billowed from the yellow body of the train locomotive.
