Ok, another attempt to give an accurate review without spoiling what the book is about. I know at the beginning the book doesn’t grab you with the main characters behavior but I promise you it’s a phase he’ll grow out of it To talk about it in general…think of it like this, if you were a God perhaps you would punish serial killers by damning them to hell, but that bit isn’t enough because most serial killers in general are sociopaths and psychopaths and I know I have never been to hell and have no idea of their methods but I don’t think that would be enough to break them…so you think of a plan to kill 2 birds with 1 stone you place the killers in extremely heroic peoples consciousness and force them to help them catch killers like their previous selves under the illusionary premise that they can be saved…and leave them there for who knows how long I mean they killed so many people so they probably gonna be doing that for 1000s of years and what other way to break them by putting them in a mind of someone that is so much like them but has a hero complex so bad that it makes even me want to enter the book and slap him sometimes cuz of how cringy he sounds(my poor heart has blackened by the amount of dark novels I read daily😭) Or who knows our mc may just be imagining the voices cuz he’s going bonkers Oh and the plot twist and murder mysteries just keep getting better and better, author please don’t stop this half way and make me vomit a bucket of blood the story is really good.

I'm enjoying the writing, the characters, the development of the plot and how each case comes with its own problems that make the story more interesting. I don't see why I should drop this at all, Park is determined and likable which makes it better, great writing from the Author! [img=recommend][img=recommend][img=update]
just read the first chapter and i stronlgly hate the MC..he is a piece of shit particularly towards his grandma
its not good but also not bad, first of all too many emotion are applied on mc, like every two or three paragraph he either gets chill in his spine or sweats or dread fills his body, more over if he is solving a big case like 4 body homocide, at still shows some conversation between the detectives and make it feel real, like this novels shows as if only mc solved the case without any team contribution. And detectives if iIthink my knowledge of detectives from the shows are correct then they always have a partner but mc always charges ahend single. But the case, the twist and turns, the killer in his head, the dark aspect of the story is worth a read.

Honestly, I am hooked. the first person narrative really gives a strong immersion and the bizarre nature of the cases really feels like a true crime documentary.
This story is great, excellent writing quality, interesting plot, the cases aren’t dragged out like many detective stories. I recommend it if you enjoyed The mentalist, there are many parallels.

First of, this is my personal opinion. You can build your own opinion that may differ with mine. And I have only read the first 20 chapters and giving my impressions. But there is a trend I see more and more, and that is to try to overdramatize and overdescribe scenes. Reading it feels like half the content is to fill word counts, without adding anything to the experience. Like writing a page about the inner conflict and how he perseveres or suppresses his discomfort and decides to call someone… And there are a ton of such cases. I dont need to read a page of his struggles, it is hindering me in enjoying the story as I want to skip half the text. In my opinion it would help being more straight to the point. That is the reason I gave writing quality and story development 2/5 stars as it makes it extremely tedious for me to read and progress through the story. For the rest, the world is like the normal modern world, there is no specialty, just a normal world as we know it. So nothing special or unique, just normal. So a 3/5 as its not bad but also not special or creative in any way to enhance the story. The characters are made well, just the typical cliché with main character being looked down upon and then everyone being awed by his „intelligence“ or whatever, so 4/5
6 chapters in, sufficient to say, I am completely hooked. Author nim is 100% a seasoned writer. There is almost no mistakes made here, be it grammar or english sentences. A++ The plot is very intriguing and unique. Characters stay true.
