The room was dimly lit, with only the faint glow of the setting sun seeping through the sheer curtains, casting soft, golden patterns across the walls.
Adam sat on the bed, his posture stiff, eyes distant as if lost in a whirlwind of his own thoughts. Across from him, Ani sat silently, her eyes filled with concern.
For a moment, there was only the sound of their breaths, mingling with the faint chirping of birds outside. Then, Ani moved.
Slowly, deliberately, she reached out, her delicate hand sliding beneath Adam's clenched fists. Her fingers brushed against his palm, warm and reassuring, and she gently pulled his hand toward her face.
Adam flinched slightly, his stormy eyes snapping to Ani as she pressed his hand against her cheek.
Her gaze was soft but steady, filled with an unspoken understanding. For a moment, the tension in his shoulders eased, his anger dissipating like smoke in the air.
