Chương 16: Rao Industries
10 years later,
The Kent House.
The entire Kent family was standing in the barn with the parents at the back watching the two fifteen(15) year old who were standing in front.
James looked at his brother who had an extremely nervous look on his face and smiled.
"You ready?" James asked as he rubbed his brother's back to comfort him
"How can I be?.., I'm not human" Clark replied with an expression that showed his mental state extremely well.
He was heartbroken, James didn't know exactly how Clark felt but he could at least tell that the boy didn't want to hear that he was an alien
He wasn't ready for it... truthfully, he would probably never be ready for it.
"True but I can swear on my life to all the gods of this universe that you are the most human out of all of us standing here" James said trying to console the boy
"Why do you have this weird way of just making me feel better"
"I'm your older brother dumb ass, I watched you grow up"
"Yeah, he actually did" Martha added as she and Jon laughed
"Really?"
"Okay, enough of that, though I have to warn you, the place doesn't look all that clean as it's supposed to be, I have been extremely busy over the last few years so expect everything….. oh and also, don't touch anything" James warned.
"James, what did you do?!" Jon asked as the atmosphere suddenly became serious
James pretended as though he didn't hear him as he opened the hatch to the underground space and they all climbed down.
Arriving in the space proper, the family was faced with a full-blown sci-fi-looking lab with multiple unrecognizable equipment located here and there.
"James, what were you doing here?" Martha asked in surprise
"Experiments but all this isn't that important, Kelex?!" James called out
"Answer me, kid, what type of experiments are you..." Jon asked in anger.
However, stopped when he noticed the holographic projection of a man who looked like an older version of James.
[Hello sir] Kelex answered
"Woah!!" Martha and Clark shouted in surprise and awe when they saw it but Jon had a feeling he had seen the face somewhere else
"Clark, meet Kelex, an Artificial Intelligence created by our Father to watch over us" James began
[Hello Kal-El, it is nice to meet you] Kelex said politely and bowed.
This led to an awkward silence since none of them knew who Kal-El was thus had started looking around
"That's you, Clark" James said.
He couldn't blame him, all his life, his name had been Clark Kent. The name 'Kal-El' was completely new.
"Oh!.... Nice to meet you then" Clark replied awkwardly
[And good day to you sir and madam, the house of El owes you for the great kindness you have shown it] Kelex said in a manner reminiscent of a butler.
"Thank you" Martha replied
[I am sorry they are unable to thank you themselves]
"Wait, they are alive?" Clark asked noticing its words
"I'm sorry to break it to you but we were sent here just minutes before our planet died... I saw it with my own eyes" James said immediately shutting that idea down.
"Thats impossible"
"Not when you're like me, the journey from Krypton to here made me self-conscious a lot sooner than I like" James said
"Wait... that means..."
"Yes, I was aware"
"Now that's embarrassing"
"So when you said you watched me grow up, you meant it"
"I kind of had no choice, I'm the older one here," James said .
"Show off," Clark said as he turned back to Martha and Jon
"Does this mean that you guys are not our parents?" Clark asked as James immediately face palmed
"We knew your identity before we rescued you and took you two in, we loved you then and we will continue to love you dear" Martha answered as she took him into her arms
"It doesn't matter whether they were alive or not, we will always remain your parents" Jin said as he joined in and hugged Clark to calm him down.
"Okay okay, enough of the sentimental stuff, you guys are ruining my lab," James said with a laugh
"Idiot!" Jon said and knocked his head with his fist as the entire family laughed
"Wait James you've known for how long exactly," Clark asked
"From the very moment, we were born, I don't forget things" James replied giving a plausible explanation
"Thank you" Clark replied then stretched his hand out for a handshake
"Look at this boy, we are brothers, we were meant to look out for each other and I will continue looking out for you until the end of time literally" James said then hugged him
