__________
Everyone started laughing. They had been so engrossed in the joke and when Charlus finally retaliated, they found it funny.
"Leave it. I'm getting hungry. Who's going to come to the dining hall? Maybe we can find some snacks?"
Charlotte agreed to go with Lucas.
Charlus felt bored too.
"Hey, Henri. Horse riding? I need to improve a lot."
Sure. Henri went with Charlus to the ground and Lucas went with Charlotte. The others didn't have anything to do, so they went to the ground along with Charlus and Henri.

The Horse-riding Ground | 4th September 1988 | 5 PM
Everyone was just resting on their horses and trotting on the ground. They were bored and didn't know what to do.
"Hey! Does anyone know about our new teachers?"
The first three years had the same professors and the fourth to eighth years had different professors. The ninth and tenth years would have the most experienced professors. As for the people doing their masteries, they take apprenticeships under the same professors that taught the 9th and 10th years.
"I don't know. I'm not sure. I think heard someone say that our transfiguration professor is an old man. Let's see tomorrow."
"Fine. Race you? I do three rounds and you do four."
"Fine."
______
Transfiguration classroom | 5th September 1988 | 10 AM
"Welcome students, welcome back to Beauxbatons. I hope we will have a lovely year. I am Professor Hamilton and I will be teaching Transfiguration. Transfiguration is one of the most dangerous and complicated subjects."
One of the students raised their hand.
"Yes, Mr.-?"
"Holmes Professor. Professor, you said that Transfiguration is one of the most dangerous subjects. Why? What's dangerous about changing a match stick into a needle?"
Professor Hamilton chuckled.
"This is a question that never gets old. I am often asked this question and I always give the same answer. I said, and I quote myself, 'One of the most dangerous.' I said this because when magic is involved, everything has a factor of risk involved. If I tried to transfigure a matchstick into a needle but I make the needle too long and it pierces my chest, wouldn't I die? If I tried to transfigure myself into a shark without transfiguring my lungs and jump into the water, wouldn't I choke. This is true for every field. There are explosions in potions, dangerous plants and animals in Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures, and there are dangerous spells when Dueling is involved. Does that answer your question, Mr Holmes?"
"Yes, Professor."
Patrick sat down and didn't open his mouth anymore.
"For this class, we won't be having any practical spells used. We will be revising the transfiguration equation that Professor Papillon taught you...."
The rest of the class was based on the transfiguration equation. After the class, they immediately had Potions. Charlus had to rush because he lost time as he had to go back to his dorm to get his books for Potions.
When he got there, he was relieved that the professor hadn't yet arrived. The professor had been behind him. He had arrived immediately after Charlus, which meant that Charlus had reached the class in the nick of time. When Charlus went to sit in the nearest seat that was free, he noticed the professor behind him.
The professor was a short man in his 60s. He had a bald head and his beard was cleanly shaved. He didn't have a single hair on his head, save his eyebrows.
"Good Morning class. I am Professor Andrews and I will be teaching Potions. Looking at you students, the first thing that saddens me is that rather than my accomplishments in the field, my hairless face interests you. To answer your doubts, I am not bald. I removed my hair to make sure that hair fall wouldn't be the reason for my death."
Everyone chuckled nervously at the joke.
"I am fairly serious my friends. During every practical lesson of this class, you will be required to wear the provided hair caps. Thankfully, you aren't at the age where you have a beard."
Everyone looked at the corner of the class where they had previously noticed the odd-looking caps. They were thin transparent sheets that were elastic at the open end.
"Today, we will be revising the procedure of the cure for boils. This is one of the simpler options that you will be learning to make. The method is also fairly simple. So we will be focusing on the interactions of the potion. These same interactions will be used in the Cure for Dragonpox created a year ago."
This class too, like the previous one, was a revision of previously learned topics. After the class, Charlus' group went for lunch together. They took one of the tables and sat down after getting their food.
"What do you think about the classes."
Lucas started speaking with his mouth full.
"They're pretty boring. When will we start using our wands?"
"Not today. We have herbology afterwards." Charlotte replied.
"Bummer. Maybe tomorrow then."
"Tomorrow? Maybe. We'll have transfiguration tomorrow and we will be transfiguring a matchstick to a needle."
"Yeah. But don't get me too excited. My poor body can't take it."
"Poor body can't take the excitement but can take three plates of food."
Charlotte pointed at Lucas eating like he had fasted the week. Everyone except Charlus laughed at the comment. Charlus was worried about the fact that he had to perform magic. Magic that he had been unable to do.
