In just a few minutes, he was out of his common room and jogged through the corridors for a while before stopping in front of a painting of a bowl of fruits.
He placed his finger on a pear that was in the painting and rubbed it lightly. A few seconds later, the pear jiggled and turned into a large green door handle. A smile threatened to pop out of Alex's face as he opened the door and walked inside.
Alex walked into the kitchens and saw the elves scrambling around, but the scene only lasted for about two seconds before the elves stopped whatever they were doing and ran over to Alex, asking him what he wanted.
It took him a while to calm them down but after that was done everything else was easy.
"Could you guys make me a pizza and reheat these sandwiches for me?" he asked as he placed the plate on a table withing his arms reach.
"Yes sir, it is our pleasure to serve you."
That was the last thing he heard before the elves went crazy again as they slapped and punched themselves. Some of them were about to jump into the fire place but were thrown aside by Alex.
"STOP!"
It took them a few seconds to register the order but he was relieved that they at least stopped.
"We are sorry sir, but we do not know what a pizza means. Allow us to punish ourselves for this grave mistake."
Alex slapped his forehead as he had never expected something like this to happen. He forgot that even he didn't know about pizzas until he read about it in a thin muggle book which was commonly called as magazines. It took him almost an hour to teach them about pizzas and how they were made.
The little creatures were quite smart as they efficiently absorbed everything that Alex told them.
After everything was done, Alex walked out of the kitchen with a small basket filled with sandwiches and pizza slices.
He then directly headed to the seventh floor and did the thing he needed to do. He walked past the large portrait thinking about what he needed.
'I want a place to create and practice new spells and learn about the mysteries of magic.
I want a place to create and practice new spells and learn about the mysteries of magic.
I want a place to create and practice new spells and learn about the mysteries of magic'
The painting slowly transformed into a door and Alex quickly headed inside before closing the door behind him.
He looked at the room which had enough empty space to use spells and large bookshelves that were filled with, of course, books.
Alex stood at the same place without moving for a while before walking over to a couch and placed the basket on the ground beside it. He then picked a few books and made himself comfortable on the couch before he started reading.
Time quickly passed as he ate while reading and only when he finished the book, did he realise that the room didn't have a clock or something that told him the time.
He sighed as he walked over to the spell testing area and duplicated one of the books using the doubling charm, geminio. The cloned book wasn't perfect as the written park was unreadable.
It didn't really matter to him as he placed the original book back in its place before roughly transfiguring the cloned book into an hourglass. The hourglass looked simple, but had no flaws like the book which was a bit more complex.
'As expected, magic needs practice to be perfect or at least close to being perfect.'
Alex had used transfiguration a lot as he had to experiment with wood for brooms and wands so he was pretty decent with it. He was still not good with permanent transfiguration but his creation lasted for at least a week before reverting back to their original form.
'Hmm… this one empties to the other end in three-hour I guess? I'll manage with this for today.'
He finished another three books for a span of two hourglasses before using the disillusionment charm on himself and walked out of the room of requirements.
It was already morning so he ran into the male washroom in the first floor before dispelling the disillusionment charm and walked out casually. He walked to his room and got changed before heading off to the great hall.
Everyone was busy eating while he made a beeline towards Aman and sat down beside him.
"Hey, thanks for the sandwiches." He said as he smacked him on his back.
"Oww! Is that how you thank people?!"
"Naaah. That's how I thank only you. After all, you never miss a chance to do the same do you?"
Aman groaned exaggeratedly before coming up with another question, "Will you roam the castle today too?"
"Nah… from today, I'll just go to the library. I need information on brooms since I want to become a broom maker after graduating from here. Wanna join?", he lied through his teeth without any hesitation.
"Uh… Nah I'm fine. You can have fun in the library."
"Alright…" said Alex as he stuffed his mouth with toast and blueberry jam before heading off.
Classes were conducted as usual and Alex didn't play attention to any of them as usual too. But unlike before, the teachers turned a blind eye to his ignorance.
A few weeks passed by just like that. It was afternoon on Wednesday and Alex seemed full of energy as he seemed to look forward to the next class and even Aman was surprised to see him like this as he was never excited to attend any class.
"Hey, why are you so … optimistic today?" Aman asked Alex as he poked his shoulder.
"We have flying lessons with Hufflepuffs and as a future broom maker, I am highly interested in uh … getting my broom rated by madam hooch."
"You already made a broom?" Aman asked, extremely surprised with the news that he heard from his friend.
