Chương 2: Chapter 2

Your POV

She helps me stand and picks up the boxes off the ground.

'I can't believe it's her. Is karma trying to get me now?' I think.

"There we go. All of your boxes." Scarlet tells.

"Thank you. I don't think anyone else would have helped if I dropped them." I say.

"Not enough people like that in the world," she tells.

"You can say that again."

Since she was holding my boxes, I dig around for my keys in my purse and my phone. I take them out and try to grab my boxes from her hands, but she moves them away from me.

'Is this really a game of keep away?' I think.

"You got your arms full. Let me carry these for you," she tells.

I give her a look and try to take my boxes again.

"I'm not taking no for an answer," she tells.

I roll my eyes and sigh at her declare.

"Follow me," I tell.

I guide her to my car and have her place them in the front passenger seat.

"Thank you for your unneeded help," I tell, sarcastically.

"It was no problem really," she tells, with as much sarcasm as I did.

I giggle at that and smile at her.

"I'm Y/N," I tell.

"Scarlett," she says.

She puts out her hand towards me and I take it. I feel a shock go through me when we touch, but I didn't pull away and neither did she. Her smile gets even bigger looking at me and I felt shocked but didn't let it show on my face. We let go, but our hands linger with each other.

"Hey, would you like..." she starts.

My phone rings, interrupting her sentence and I look, seeing that its Emma.

"I'm so sorry, but I have to get going. It's my manager." I tell.

I answer the phone and hear Emma raving about something.

"Y/N, you have to come over to my house. I've got great news." Emma tells.

"I'm on my way. Don't worry. I'm getting in the car now." I tell, walking to the driver's side.

"Wait..." Scarlett says.

I ignore her as I get in and she knocks on the passenger side window. I start up the car and roll down the window.

"I'm really sorry, but I have to go. Maybe I'll see you around." I tell.

She back up as I pull off from the curb and towards Emma's apartment.

15 Minutes Later...

I pull into her driveway and shut off my car. I just sit for a minute to gather my bearings.

'What the hell karma!! I said I didn't want to ever meet her, but here you go!! Give me the secondary role to her leading role in a movie, have her find me at Rodeo Drive, and make me feel something!! I'm not falling for it!! You can't make me!!' I think.

I get my bearings and I step out of the car, locking my car as I walk towards Emma's door. The door opens before I can even knock and I'm pulled inside.

"What's the rush?" I ask.

"You need to get ready for the casting party. Mr. Ivy has invited us to go over the script and for the cast to get to know each other," she tells, walking me towards the bedroom.

"Good thing I went dress shopping," I say.

"No can do. The movie cast sent you dresses and everything you'll need for the movie." Emma tells.

"Let me see and then we'll talk," I tell.

She pulls out some dresses and I was shocked. They were all beautiful, but I loved the golden dress.

"The last one for sure," I tell.

"Done. Get dressed and we'll get going," she tells.

I grab the dress hanger and went into the bathroom. I took a quick shower and rubbed some lotion on my body.

"I'm using your lotion!!" I yell.

"Don't use it all!! Save some for me!!!" she yells.

I slip on the dress and heels, looking at myself in the mirror.

"Damn I look good," I say.

"That you do." a voice says.

I look at the doorway and see that Emma was standing there staring at me.

"How long have you been there?" I ask.

"Just opened the door. You look beautiful Y/N." Emma tells, walking forward.

I do a little twirl for her and she whistles at me. She takes my hand and pulls me towards her. I rest my hands on her shoulders and look into her eyes.

"You know I miss you. I miss us," she mumbles.

"And you know we can't go back. I trust you to be my manager, not my girlfriend." I tell.

"I know, but what if.." she starts.

"Emma. We both promised not to go down that road again. We both, mutually, said it was better than we were just friends. Not friends with benefits, not fuck buddies, just friends with a professional business arrangement." I tell, squeezing her shoulders.

"Right. Right," she says, pulling away.

She straightens out her suit and checks her phone.

"The car will be here in a few minutes. Let's check our checklist," she tells.

"I got my clutch with everything I need. Pepper spray for any handsy paparazzi or drunk passerby's, a pen for if I need to sign something, but I probably won't need it, condoms that you shoved in my bag for no reason, my birth control pills, my phone, and mint gum." I tell.

"You'll need those condoms, cause some of the people there are fine af," Emma tells.

"Right. Let's go downstairs and check on the car." I tell, walking towards the stairs.

She walks down with me as the car pulls up and honks for us. We walk out and I walk towards the limo as Emma locks up her house. The chauffeur opens the door for me and helps me in.

"Thank you," I say.

"My pleasure, mademoiselle," he says, his accent beautifully stands out.

Emma gets in right after me and starts pouring us champagne. I take my flute and take a sip as we make our way towards the casting party.

Scarlett's POV

I was pacing in my room as co-star and best friend, Jeremy sat and watched.

"Okay, this is now getting boring. Would you stop pacing and tell me what is wrong with you?" Jeremy asks.

I didn't say anything and kept pacing for another ten minutes. He sighs angrily and flops back on my bed. I stop pacing and finally sit down at the foot of the bed with my head in my hands. I rub my face and put my elbows on my knees and my hands under my chin.

"I think I found her." I finally say.

He immediately sits up and gaps at me.

"Seriously?" he asks.

I nod and he rushes to the front of me. He looks in my eyes that shine the truth and he laughs.

"I fucking knew you would!!! This is amazing!!" he tells.

"Yeah. She amazing." I tell.

"Well, who is she? Please for the love of God don't tell me is Liz," he asks.

"No!! Not Liz. She's beautiful in her own right, but no it's not her. She's a rising star. She's my villain counterpart in the new movie we're cast in." I tell.

"Oh. She's going to be at the casting party, so we can find her and talk to her," he tells.

"That is if she even gives me the time of day. When I helped her with her shopping bags, she was almost shooting daggers from her eyes as she looked at me." I tell.

"So she may actually believe those rumors about you," he says.

"Bingo," I tell, flopping back on the bed.

Jeremy sits on the bed next to me and pats my thigh.

"Well, now you have to change how she thinks," he tells.

"How?" I ask.

"Show her that your not a player. That it was a phase that stuck with you because of the media and you're better than that," he tells.

"Yeah. I'll make sure I'm just me with her." I tell, sitting up.

"Good, now get up and get dressed. I'm going to get in my suit and go," he tells.

He leaves for his own room and I grab my suit making my way towards the bathroom.

'I'm going to make sure she's mine.' I think.

I give myself a once over in the mirror and smirk at myself.

"I look damn good," I say.

I leave out the bathroom and out the door towards Jeremy's room he comes out dressed to impress and I nod approvingly.

"Let's go get your woman," he says.
