Chương 45: Boar Ride

It causes me immense joy to watch my player base grow. The rapid buildings of various oriental architecture look like a fast-forward movie of building a city. I am just exaggerating a bit, but it is a fact that they are damn fast.

After only 4 months, the pilgrims were able to reach incredible levels of prowess! In another two months, I can upgrade the system again with my quintessence.

For now, I have to continue my experimentation with qi and quintessence. I am not a scientist but the original Old Fu Shi was something like that— just this world's version of a 'seeker' of the truth, that he is, which is far more melodramatic than just a scientist.

Inside the deepest part of the cave is a lab reminiscent of my old world, yet everything that you can find here is legit cultivation items.

My latest project is how to split atoms with qi. I am not trying to build a nuke or something… But imagine if I were able to crack the formula of possibly a convertible almost infinite energy.

While I am strong already with my superpowers and the knowledge of Fu Shi, I would still love to get stronger. Even though I now have subordinates who have so much potential, I have no plans of solely relying on them, because I too want to be strong.

It is annoying how I cannot use the system to level up, and I can only suck it as day by day, I come to realize the necessity for me to get out of the world and explore… find opportunities, and spread my name.

Scratch the 'spread of your name' and get famous. I will be happy enough if opportunities just knock on my door and just make me a successful man right away! I once again recall that I need to be low profile. As I sift through old Fu Shi's memories, there is one particular snippet that greatly intrigues me— the snippet was actually old Fu Shi talking to himself in the mirror which I find dubiously suspicious.

In that snippet, old Fu Shi mentions how after he escapes Heaven's Game, the heavenly immortals start hunting him. According to my data, that was at least a thousand years ago, but who can argue they didn't stop looking for me?

Coming to my abode are the silhouettes of my elite players and the two new additions.

Yin Shu, the Royal Princess, kneels and kowtows as per their ancestor's teaching. "I am Yin Shu, I wish to become your disciple!"

I agree with her request immediately, but I have to correct her way of thinking. "Not disciple, a player! With the system, you are my player!" I keep on emphasizing this to them at this point.

Yin Shu repeats her kowtow aware that she made an affront to the Game Master. "Forgive me, Game Master! This player shall offer you her allegiance!"

Shan Yusin is still busy thinking whether she should do it or not, and then, she is like just 'fuck it,' and let the princess have her way. Shan Yusin offers her kowtow to the Immortal Gamer silently beside the princess.

I take a look at my four-month-wait-worth for my quintessence to grow. With the right moves and just enough caution, I might be able to pull it off.

I muster the friendliest smile I can. "Princess… I admire your parents they were able to groom you well."

Yin Shu nervously starts sweating, her fear of the Game Master is for all people to see! But Lu Gao is as chill as ever. I turn around and look at my other players. "Nee Chen and Xiang Ya, I have called to you so that you can continue your journey with much ease, use this relic!"

I present the two of them, with a compass, a magical tool that is able to detect the nearest demonic cultivator from miles away. I respectfully add, "Please, Royal Bodyguard Shan Yusin, please accompany them." I ignore the bodyguard's protest, and she quickly stops, and agrees to my new arrangement with them thanks to Yin Shu,

Creating magical tools out of the shape of my past life's items is dope, but it is not just because of some great purpose or personal touch, not even longing on my part that I am doing this…

It is all thanks to the very vague science I don't even recall studying. Suddenly sprouting and intermingling the knowledge from the two worlds in my head, I realize I might hold more power than I thought. It is like old Fu Shi's memories are trying to take their counterparts in my head in an attempt to assimilate with them, they then start squeezing themselves into the metaphorical bookshelves in my head. My guess is old Fu Shi's memories are automatically waiting for this moment.

I feel a sudden throb in my chest. I feel this excitement as I imagine leaving my cave for a change in pace.

"Lu Gao, come with me… And you too, Yin Shu! Let's go meet your parents." The cultivators move on, except for the Lurker's late arrival.

I reckon, he must've hurried running here anticipating some mission or gift. That crocodile has insane instincts! Well, I guess I should give him something.

"Go to the Sandwyrm desert and map the area…"

With that, we, Lu Gao, and Yin Shu walk down the mountain. After I yank off a wild boar with 3rd stage strength, I and the kids ride to the capital. I cannot really fly much. The best I can do is levitate, as such, we need to resort to doing this— riding this boar.

I am not an outdoor kind of guy, but I am loving this.

The beastly boar is big enough for Lu Gao and Yin Shu to seat side by side. I hear them playing while Yin Shu calls him 'dear', and Lu Gao addresses her in a very archaic manner. But really, playing house? Moreover, a version of playing house in the royal manor, and ironically there Yin Shu is really royal. On second thought, they might not even be playing house as I continue to hear their ridiculous exchange of dialogues…

"Dear, how many children do you want to have?"

"I don't know. I don't think about stuff. How about you?"

"As many as you want?"

"Why?

"…"

I try my hardest not to look back to see what the two are doing. In the end, I was able to prevail over the urge.

"Your highness, this Lu Gao has concerns… Is there any way that I can gain access to the Royal Archive as many times as I want…"

"Sure, dear… After the ceremony, I am sure you can go as much as you want."

"While I am appreciative of the favor you show me… Can you please not be so clingy?"

"Why?"

"…"

Ok, ok, that's it. I use my superpower Mind's Eye to secretly peek in my back only to see a very familiar scene. This is exactly what Xiang Ya and Nee Chen look like ever since they together got down from Desolate Mountain.

"Dear, I am so happy that you are accepting me very easily for who I am…"

"Uuumm… I don't know what you are talking about, but you are welcome?

The romantic Boar Ride continues as I chaperone those two to the kingdom. I cannot feel my Game Master status helping at all. I wish, I too have a special someone…
