"I missed you."
Picking her up in his arms, Ross growled with pleasure and gave her a generous hug and then a sweet kiss. He had spent a lousy weekend by himself, finding that exploring Paris seemed much more exciting when shared by two rather than experienced by just one. The city for lovers demanded it.
She looked great in a white knit top and a plaid, flared skirt, just short enough for an admirer to see her legs, but not too short to appear unsuitable for her age. "You look wonderful. Did you enjoy the outdoors while you were there?"
"A little bit."
Adrienne had definitely soaked up some sun, kissing her skin with just a touch of dark honey; but now her happiness at seeing Ross again did more to flush her face and highlight the amber in her eyes.
They met in the park, her decision when she called him.
"I have a surprise for you." She took his hand and tugged him along.
"Where to?"
"You'll see."
