Chương 64: Chapter 64 The Powerful Roaring Letter

Since the new school year had just begun, Eisen didn't head to the Response Room to practice his spells when he returned at night. Instead, he went to bed early.

Eisen understood that while his Transfiguration had made some breakthroughs, it would take time to fully master his new skills. Therefore, there was no need to rush.

It was already the second school year for the trio of saviors at Hogwarts. If nothing unexpected happened, the next major event would revolve around the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets.

A key element, of course, was the diary Lucius Malfoy gave to Ginny. This diary was no ordinary object—it was the first Horcrux Voldemort ever created.

When Voldemort was still a student, he opened the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets, controlling the basilisk with his unique abilities. He then murdered a Muggle-born witch, Myrtle Warren, who became the ghost haunting the pipes as "Moaning Myrtle."

This murder allowed Voldemort to split his soul and store part of it in his diary, thus creating his first Horcrux.

Voldemort cunningly pinned the crime on Aragog, Hagrid's acromantula, leading to Hagrid's expulsion from Hogwarts.

Later, Voldemort entrusted this first Horcrux to Lucius Malfoy for safekeeping. As the Ministry of Magic began searching for dangerous items, Lucius secretly slipped the diary to Ginny in Flourish and Blotts.

If things went as expected, the diary would soon cause trouble at Hogwarts through Ginny, almost bringing Voldemort back to life.

The next morning, Eisen went to the Great Hall for breakfast as usual.

Under the enchanted ceiling, four long tables were filled with dishes. While students ate, they chatted excitedly. A quick listen revealed that the focus of their conversations was Harry and Ron.

Indeed, Harry and Ron's dramatic arrival at Hogwarts in a flying car had earned them awed and envious looks from most students.

However, Eisen noticed Hermione frowning as she flipped through *Traveling with Vampires*. She didn't even give Harry a proper greeting, clearly upset with him and Ron for their reckless behavior.

As Eisen sipped his milk after finishing a piece of bread, a sudden buzzing caught his attention. Looking up, he saw hundreds of owls swooping into the hall.

One by one, they dropped packages or letters onto the long tables, which were eagerly caught by the students. It was clear these were gifts or messages from home.

"Errol!" Ron's shout broke through the general noise, catching Eisen's attention.

On the table lay a gray owl with a red letter in its beak.

"Oh no..." Ron groaned, burying his head in his hands, clearly expecting the worst.

"Don't worry, it's still alive!" Harry prodded the owl gently, and when he saw it stir, he clapped Ron on the shoulder in reassurance.

"No, that's not what I'm worried about!" Ron pointed at the red envelope in Errol's beak, shaking his head in distress.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked, confused, and even Hermione looked up from her book, curious.

A smile spread across Eisen's face. If he wasn't mistaken, the red envelope was a Howler. This would be entertaining.

"My mother sent me a Howler," Ron muttered, swallowing nervously as he debated whether to open it.

"Ron, you better open it now. It gets worse if you don't. My grandmother sent me one once, and when I didn't open it... well, it was awful," Neville advised, taking a deep breath as if recalling the terrifying memory.

"What's a Howler?" Harry asked, puzzled by Ron and Neville's alarmed reactions. Was it dangerous?

Meanwhile, the red envelope had started smoking. Ron was sweating as he stared at it, ignoring Harry's question entirely.

"Open it now, or there'll be no time!" Neville whispered urgently.

There was no avoiding it. Shaking, Ron finally reached out, took the envelope from Errol's mouth, and tore it open with trembling hands.

Immediately, a deafening roar filled the hall, leaving Harry momentarily stunned. He now understood what a Howler was. Neville had already covered his ears, and Hermione quickly followed suit.

"RON WEASLEY! How *dare* you steal that car! I wouldn't be surprised if they expelled you! Do you even realize what you've done? Your father and I were mortified when we found out!" Mrs. Weasley's voice bellowed from the letter, a hundred times louder than normal, shaking the dishes on the tables. Eisen, though familiar with this scene from a distant memory of a film, was still taken aback by the sheer volume of the Howler.

The entire hall fell silent as Ron cowered in his seat, his face flushed with embarrassment.

"We received a letter from Dumbledore last night—your father nearly died of shame! How could you be so reckless? You and Harry could have died!" The booming voice made Harry cringe.

"Your father's job is on the line, and it's all because of you! If you can't follow the rules, we'll bring you home immediately!" The Howler finally finished its tirade and burst into flames, crumbling to ashes before Eisen's wide eyes.

He glanced at Ron and Harry, who seemed too stunned to move.

Around them, murmurs began to rise as the hall gradually returned to life.

"Don't expect sympathy," Hermione said coldly, lowering her hands and closing her book before glaring at Ron.

"I get it, Hermione! Stop!" Ron snapped, clearly not in the mood for more scolding.

After breakfast, Professor McGonagall handed out the Gryffindor class schedules. Harry and his friends had Herbology first.

Eisen, however, headed to the library on the second floor.

After selecting *The Mystery of Transfiguration* from the shelves, he sat down at a table, though he didn't immediately start reading. His mind drifted back to the scene in the Great Hall.

Until now, Eisen hadn't given it much thought. But after witnessing the power of the Howler, a new idea began to form in his mind: what if a Howler could be used in battle?

It seemed ridiculous at first, but thinking it over, there was potential to modify a Howler's function.

Normally, a Howler activates only when opened, but what if it could be altered to trigger upon contact with a target? That could be quite effective.

However, Eisen's excitement waned when he remembered that wizards could simply use a spell to block sound. Even if the Howler were transformed to activate instantly, it would be useful only for surprise attacks when the opponent was caught off guard.

That limitation meant owls couldn't be used to deliver the Howler—direct delivery with a Levitation Charm would be necessary.

But in close combat, wouldn't it be more efficient to use a regular attack spell instead of relying on a Howler?

Shaking his head, Eisen dismissed the thought and turned his attention to the book, gradually becoming absorbed in its contents.

I hope your like the chapter 😊.
