Chương 54: Snake and Ladders
Dumbledore looked at the giant snake, as we rode her out. The ladies got off, and I kept riding her.
"Is that what I think it is?"
I looked at him and said, "If you mean a giant lovable snake who is hungry after being caged for so many years, then yes! She is hungry. Come! We should go to the grounds, where she can have in meal in peace."
I rode the snake as she slithered on the castle floor, and the astounded group of wizards and witches followed behind, as the ladies explained what we were doing in the chamber.
When I reached near Hagrid's hut, I unloaded the meat from the space, and she feasted on it with gusto.
I had gotten off her head, and went to Dumbledore, "She was forced, by the blood of her master using blood magic to attack the students. She is a pacifist, and was kept in the chamber to protect the students in need."
Looking at the people, I said, "Salazar Slytherin hated those of muggle borne, because they more often than not were attacked and killed by their own parents, and their magic would corrupt and become an obscurus."
Taking a breath, I continued, "Therefore, he wanted to allow only pureblood, so that they were not afraid of their own magic, or didn't think magic as devil's work. But the other three believed that the children, when taught the wonders of magic, can be integrated into our society, and bolster our numbers. That was the disagreement between the four, not about blood supremacy."
Dumbledore nodded his head in agreement, as we silently watched the Basilisk eat her meat. When she finished, she came to me. "Come! Change into your true form. We could go hunt for some spiders. They taste delicious."
I giggled, as I found out why spiders flee from her sight. "Don't you think we should hunt when you feel hungry again? There is a huge nest in the forest, and we could cull their numbers for a while."
She hissed for a moment, and answered with a nod, "Okay. We will hunt for them in the morning. But you will accompany me." I nodded, and rubbed her head.
"Can you transform into a Basilisk as well?" Sirius asked jokingly, as he had seen me transform into a Thunderbird and a dragon before.
I grinned and transformed on the head of the Basilisk, all the while keeping my eyes closed, then changed back.
"I am young, so I cannot control my gaze, like she can. She told me she would teach me, when we go hunt for delicious Acromantula in the morning."
Sirius grumbled under his breath. "Shouldn't have asked the brat. If it's impossible, he can do it with ease."
I grinned at him. "You smell like a dog, and Lord Potter smells like prey, we could go in the forest and play with Hippogriffs. They are the most adorable horses, and the mother lets me ride on her back."
When he heard me call James, a prey, he laughed and patted his friend's back, who grumbled about disrespectful brats.
