Chương 13: med school, but not to save lives

Dinner was unusually quiet. when she was done eating she took Hayden upstairs and placed him on his bed. She was also ready to sleep when she heard a slight knock on the door.

She wondered who it could be.

She made her way to the entrance of her room and slightly opened the room door.

There he was standing at the entrance handsome as always.

"What do you want?" She said in a hostile way

"Please can we just talk? he asked calmly

before she could resist further he added, "besides, we're married "

She looked at him for a few seconds before letting him in. He had a point, that, she was well aware of.

His eyes met the cute little boy sleeping soundly. He had wanted him dead and here he was, his son.

He had certain regrets and he was remorseful about telling Amy to eliminate his boy and now his boy had saved his life.

"He's beautiful" he confessed

"Yeah I know " Amy replied this time more calmly she could see he was sorry and this was the first time he was catching a glimpse of his son in 6 years.

She had to cut him some slack.

"I'm sorry, Amy. I didn't mean to hurt you or give up on us the way I did. Allow me to make things work."

Amy looked at Rudolph teary-eyed she was angry but she still loved him. even after all these years. She hugged him tightly.

"Okay" she sobs

"Let's do this" sobs some more.

Rudolph made his way back to his room all he could think about was how messed up his life was currently and how complicated it'd be.

A few days later they had moved to their apartment in Ravensburg, not too far from Esteban's mansion. It was a large house with 5 bedrooms a living room.

It had a well-furnished kitchen and a beautiful lawn outside. She had carried Gilly along to help her with other things and was willing to start afresh.

Little did she know that things were not black and white as she thought, there was also fifty shades of grey.

She had decided to pay a visit to her parents and explained it all to them.

"Are you happy?" Gina asked cleaning the last drop of tears on her face.

"Yes mum I am, not as happy as I should be but it's more than what I deserve," she said coldly

Her father gave her a warm embrace, gently kissing her forehead.

Just take good care of yourself and your son.

It had been a long day and she had decided to go back to her matrimonial home.

She noticed Rudolph was rarely home at certain periods of the night. She was curious as to what kind of business he was involved in.

She decided to ask him and it didn't turn out well

"Just stay out of it Amy if you want to live" he screamed at her.

She was scared, she hadn't seen Rudolph like that before.

He no doubt loved his son and his father had made sure his affair with Stephanie continued.

He knew he had to make Amy agree to a divorce, his father was willing to do anything to make sure she stays out if his life and get a marriage alliance with the Walkers and since Stephanie was daddy's girl, he was sure going to give her whatever she wanted and what she wanted was Rudolph, she didn't care if the had a son or was married. She wanted him.

Rudolph had deliberately done things that would make Amy leave, treated her harshly even but she wouldn't leave. Sometimes she had black eyes she'd cover with makeup while going out. Rudolph was no gentleman when it came to pleasing his father.

Hayden was 12 years old when Amy had died. What people thought was suicide but Hayden knew better. He knew his father and grandfather were dangerous. He knew his mother loved him too much to leave him.

They had killed her and he was determined to get revenge for her death. Hayden was soon introduced to the family's business, he was quite smart and was good at it.

He was able to make good deals and was excellent with negotiation.

Stephanie had married his father, 6 months after the death of his mother.

And she wasn't nice to him. He reminded her of his mother and the attention Rudolph gave to Hayden was something she didn't like.

But there was no way she'd eliminate him

Hayden had always hated Stephanie. He was going to have his revenge on them but there were things he needed to do. He decided to go to med school at age 21, Under a different surname Hayden Harland.

A business mogul whose father and grandfather controlled a drug cartel in city B had decided to study medicine.

That was a decision his father wasn't happy about

"Hayden, I need you here to oversee the operations. What do you need a medical degree for?"

"Dad I want to do this for myself. Everything I've done was for you. I want to be somebody in life. I can't live my whole life, running from someone or something. Today, the police tomorrow an opposing group. I'll still do my job from city A but I need to get this degree." He replied in a manner that brought home the point. He had made his decision and no one could stop him.

His father knew he had a point, he didn't want him to live the way he lived, there was more to life than this. He moved to city A and attended medical school there.

He'd visit Ravensburg when there was an important meeting that required all leaders to be there.

5 years later he was done with medical school, did his internship and was now focused on his revenge. He was going to get back at all of them. He didn't go to medical school to save lives but to destroy the lives he deemed unworthy.
