"Aceline!"
While the apparition was showing them around town, someone shouted that name.
"Thibault."
A group of children came running towards the apparition. The kid at the front had something in his hand.
"You got it?"
Thibault handed her the broken antler.
"Who are these people?"
While the leader of the group was focused on the apparition, Fleur raised the question.
"They are visitors headed towards Vasconia."
Fleur looked at them and asked,
"Are you from Malen?"
Diana was the first to respond.
"Yes."
Lucien tried to inspect their mana. They had to be strong to make it this far.
"It is rude to do that."
Anna warned him. She manipulated some of the mana around him and blinded him for a few seconds.
Lucien panicked, and Roxanne looked at him with worry. But he regained his sight pretty soon. He stared at Anna and said,
"Sorry."
"As long as you don't have to apologize again."
Vincent came in front of Thibault and asked,
"What is that?"
Thibault looked at the white-haired kid and asked,
"We are going to make a weapon out of it. Do you want to see?"
"Yes! Is it going to be a magic weapon?"
Thibault puffed his chest up in pride and said,
"This is a broken antler from an Elemental buck. It can be used to make all kinds of Magic weapons."
"Amazing..."
Diana nodded her head in disappointment. It didn't take much to impress the hero.
Vincent looked back at Anna and asked,
"Can I go with them?"
Anna looked at the apparition.
"He is safe as long as he doesn't leave the barrier."
Anna approached him and handed him her sword after decreasing its length to fit the palm.
"Hold onto this. If anything goes wrong, tap on the hilt twice."
He nodded fervently.
"Take care of him."
Aceline looked at the group and said.
"Sure!"
Vincent left with the group. They were headed towards the forge.
Diana and Anna followed Aceline in a different direction. After walking for a few minutes, they reached the center of the town.
"You must excuse the people here. It has been a long time since we had any visitors."
"Because of the goblins?"
Aceline frowned.
"The goblins?"
"We found a domain on our way. It was creating goblins that had reached up to B-class in power."
"A DOMAIN?"
A loud voice emerged from inside the formation. This wasn't Aceline.
Anna looked towards the formation structure. The entrance opened, and a woman identical to Aceline walked out.
"A Real Domain?"
She walked towards Anna and asked.
"Too close."
Anna grabbed her shoulders and moved her away.
"Just answer my question!"
She was panicking like crazy.
"Can you do something about her?"
Aceline shrugged.
"Fine then."
Anna used her mana to restrain the woman, but she used her mana to protect herself. Some of the energy from the barrier covered her, and she resisted the mana without any issue.
"Yes. We wiped out all the goblins over there."
Diana answered in her place.
"Wiped out? Weren't you cursed by the deity?"
"We managed to escape before that. How do you not know of the existence of the domain when you live so close to it?"
Diana was the one to ask this question.
The woman went silent. Her face blushed, and her body turned stiff.
There were a lot of people staring at them. The image she had built of a calm and calculated person was shattered in a second.
"Uhm..."
She lowered her face and said,
"I am sorry for my previous behavior. It was uncalled for."
Anna closed her eyes.
"The domain belongs to a goblin deity. It is 9 floors underground."
She said that and looked at the Apparition.
"Where can I find a place to sleep around here?"
"I-"
The woman interrupted and said,
"You can rest at my place. It is that house."
She pointed towards the closest house and said.
"OK then. Diana, do what you have to do and meet me at that place. Aceline, bring Vincent in before it gets too late."
She turned around to leave.
"The key..."
She walked towards the door. After glancing at the woman, she kicked through the door and said,
"The price you pay for irritating me."
She entered the house.
"So violent."
The woman looked at her and said.
"You have no idea."
Diana replied.
"So Diana, are you all headed towards Vasconia?"
"Yes."
"Then feel free to stay for as long as you like. If you need something, Aceline will help you out."
Diana nodded her head in disagreement and said,
"I wanted to talk to you about something. Was this formation created by you?"
"Yes, and no. This formation was created by my great-great-great-great..."
She said the word great 15 more times.
"...grandfather. Over the years, all of the generations before me were responsible for keeping the barrier safe. I rebuilt the entire thing using the ideas provided by my ancestors and some of my formations."
"You rebuilt this structure by yourself?"
Diana couldn't believe it.
"Of course not. That would be illogical. The villagers helped out, and we created a stronger barrier based on better formations."
Diana took a deep breath in.
"Can you share your notes with me?"
"Sure!"
The woman agreed immediately.
"Really?"
"I mean, you can have my notes. But they wouldn't work anywhere else other than this forest."
Diana frowned.
"Why?"
"This formation was built for this particular location. Everything about the surroundings was studied to the very minute details. Even we had a hard time rebuilding this formation, and we are supposed to be good at taking care of it."
The woman said with a smile.
Diana asked her another question.
"I hate to ask such a personal question to you, but can I ask for your profession?"
"A formation master by profession and a saint by calling."
Diana frowned. She did not like saints.
"Don't worry. I understand your disgust. Good saints are few and far in between."
She picked up on her expression and said.
"That is why I prefer to be a formation engineer."
She handed her a glowing flower.
"Have this. Might get the bitter taste out of your mouth."
