His legs bent at the knees and his hands as footholds, posing like a wild animal. He bitterly lamented his misfortune when this moment was the only time he could improve the village environment. Because of all the residents who were chasing Enrique, most of them were groups that supported the broken village system. If they were all dead or at least buried for years, Connor could imagine how his village would return to the glory of his father's reign.
Mucus and tears mixed together, flowing and soaking the dry forest soil. His cries sounded faintly in the ears of Xavier who had been watching his seniors play chase.
"Connor! What's going on? Why are you crying when the show has already started?" A panicked look on his face, his high-pitched tone instantly brought Cytherea to her senses.
She wanted to scold her partner, but the emergency had to come first. What's wrong? Did you make her cry? You idiot, huh?" Suddenly diatribes and slanders were hurled at Xavier who did not understand this situation.
"Mr Xavier..." Connor called out his name at length, full of roar. His face was desperate as if his life was about to be taken away.
"Are you crying because you accidentally dropped this thing?" Her tone was innocent as she offered the 'red button' Connor had been searching for.
The sound of the button could be heard clearly in the middle of the silent forest. So happy to be praised, Xavier made a slight faux pas when he accidentally pressed the 'red button' that he didn't know what it was for. Immediately, his happy face went blank, his hair was dishevelled and he sank back into the trough.
"What did you do? You just pressed the button at a crucial moment."
"What is this thing for?" Xavier asked again, this time more innocently adorned with an irresponsible chuckle.
Cytherea explained that it was used to open a land, aka a trap that Connor and Enrique had prepared. Among them, Xavier was the only one who didn't have the slightest idea of their plan, whereas back at the bar, the conversation about destroying the market had been discussed face to face.
A few minutes later, they heard the roar and screams of the locals. Rushing to look away, they saw no one standing but Enrique. The fire in both hands was pointed at the suddenly terrified locals. But ten people had such a high jump while the 'crocodile pit' was 5 metres deep and very wide.
"Nice try, you bastard mage. Now take off your mask and admit your mistake." One of the villagers suddenly spoke up and forced her.
Looking at the aura, Enrique immediately concluded that the person was the leader of the 10 people in front of him. 'They're mages too, huh? It would be very troublesome if all ten of them had the same abilities.'
The benchmark and comparison of magic could be done when the witch had more and denser mana cores. That would usually affect how much damage the opponent received. Even Top-Level Magic will not hurt normal humans if used by novice witches, or commonly called 'Fainter'.
As a witch who was nurtured by one of the Legendary Witches, it was no big deal to finish off her opponents now. But she did not want to kill them if it was not necessary.
Their leader instantly swung his hand, directing the other nine people to finish Enrique off with nine different magics. As a test, he didn't move a bit and instead took the attack while flapping his arms.
"Fool! You will die tonight! Don't think of us as low-class mages!"
All the attack-type magic hit Enrique's body. At first, he felt like his body was on fire, then it froze, the next second he felt like he was eating coagulated grains of sand.
'Damn it. They're not losers after all.' Despite saying that, he still flapped his arms while puffing out his chest. 'But still, their attacks are meaningless. Oh God, give me a worthy opponent."
Watching Enrique not budge an inch, all ten wizards were stunned, their smug faces suddenly lost and panic began to set in. Their leader tried to calm his heartbeat and again ordered his subordinates to attack the Intermediate Magic. This time he also chanted his magic spell.
"Be annihilated by this lightning, Masked Villain!" he threatened, accompanied by a villain's laugh that shook the heroes mentally. He conjured up a pitch-black cloud around them, visibility became so minimal it was as if they were blind.
Enrique instantly looked up, his eyes scanned the cloud and never considered it a threat. The next second the lightning within the cloud rushed and descended to just above the enemy's head. Not to mention combined with the Intermediate Magic of the other nine people.
"Hahaha, you're over! No enemy will survive after receiving this attack!"
Their faces turned smug again, and then one by one began to approach Enrique after a few seconds behind the smoke there was no suspicious movement. They also planned to remove his mask and take any treasures he might be carrying. But as one approached, from behind the smoke a hand shot towards the face, then burned and fell like ashes.
"Bastard. What the hell!"
Followed by other mages who were hit by the same attack and effect. Their bodies were helpless and lying on the dry ground without heads. Witnessing the incident, their leader immediately left his subordinates and ran towards the village. But Enrique did not let him run away after what they had done.
"It's been a long time since I've fought an Intermediate Magic user. Where did you learn all this?" Enrique salivated as his face was covered in small cuts like scratches.
"I beg you. Don't kill me. I beg you to give me everything I have."
Suddenly he prostrated himself while kissing Enrique's feet. But the masked criminal kicked him in the face and said, "Criminals must receive punishment in this world."
Then the leader lay with his subordinates with their disembodied heads.
