Chương 84: Chapter 84: "The Request for the Patronus Curse: Pansy's Desperate Search for Protection"

The sun is setting and the orange hue of the sunset is spreading across Hogwarts. The sky is gradually getting darker and is occasionally crossed by a few heroic owls and pitch-black bats. Night is about to fall on Hogwarts.

Draco steps out of the classroom and looks out over the stone fence. He sees that the sky has darkened and can only smile bitterly. He thinks to himself, "I should go back and eat something." The luxury goods that Narcissa gave him should last him through the night, but no matter how high-end the desserts are, they can't replace a proper meal.

As he walks along the familiar path, the setting sun is fading below the horizon and still trying to give off its last rays of light, guiding him. Otherwise, he would have to use "fluorescent flashing." The grass blades and small flowers between the green meadows on either side rustle in the breeze, and some unknown insects chirp. It's a peaceful autumn evening. The mistake in Hogwarts Castle is bathed in a pale yellow light, reflecting the old and mottled masonry.

On weekdays, Draco is always in a rush and never has time to relax. Now that he's missed dinner, he rarely gets to enjoy a comfortable walk, leisurely observing the rare beauty around him. The threat to his future, like a sword of Damocles hanging over his head, has made him unable to slack off even a little.

"Uh, Pansy?" Seeing a familiar figure under a tree not far away, Draco can't help but greet her. Then he remembers that he told her he would go to the restaurant and meet her soon and feels a little guilty. He doesn't know how to comfort her when she's upset.

"Here, I accidentally took too much food. You can have some." Pansy turns to look at the sinking sunset without looking at him, seeming a little shy.

"Thank you," Draco said as he reached out and took the food with a hint of warmth. Pansy didn't complain as he expected, but showed concern instead, which made him feel warm and surprised. His "subtlety" education paid off.

They walked to the lake and wandered for a while. The sky was completely dark and cold. The night breeze, with some moisture and cold, made waves on the calm lake, ripples spreading out from the center.

"Is this a date?" Pansy's heart jumped wildly and her innocent girl sentiment made her face a little red. She couldn't help but wonder, but couldn't distinguish it in the dark.

Another cold night breeze hit her, sobering her up. Pansy remembered her true purpose for today and said seriously to Draco, "Draco, I have something to ask your help with."

"Sure, what gadget are you fancying?" Draco asked, wondering why Pansy had been acting differently lately. It turned out she wanted his help.

Most pure-blood families are relatively wealthy and don't hesitate to spend money on their children, especially girls who are expected to be rich. But no matter how much pocket money Pansy has, it's not enough. After considering her options, Pansy realized that Draco was the only person she could ask for help.

Just looking at Pansy's blushing face, Draco realized he might have been wrong and quickly corrected himself. "I'm just kidding, don't mind."

"Hmph." Pansy turned away a little annoyed, but still thought bitterly to herself, "He still treats me like a child." She tried to cheer herself up by thinking, "Then I should mature myself." She turned back to Draco and said, "I want to learn the patronus curse, the one you used to defeat the dementors."

Draco was staggered by her request and almost fell into the lake. Pansy was taken aback and quickly drew out her wand to use a spell to steady him, but fortunately, the surprise was enough to just shake his body slightly and stabilize him.

"What are you talking about?" Draco thought he must be hallucinating. Pansy, who relied on him so heavily for the final exam, wanted to learn a spell?

"You heard me right," Pansy said.

"Hmm..." After confirming that Pansy was serious, Draco began to ponder. If there are no more accidents, the dementor problem will be solved by him, so there isn't much point in learning the patronus spell.

"But it doesn't hurt to learn more," he thought. He doesn't care more about learning the Patronus Charm or other things. He's happy that Pansy has really changed. There will be no less danger in the future, and he can't always be by her side.

"Okay, let's go then," Draco said as he took Pansy's slender hand and started walking down the other path.

"Where are we going?" Pansy asked, a hint of doubt in her heart.

"A great man comparable to Merlin once said that practice is the only criterion for testing truth," Draco said as he glanced at Pansy. "What do you think?"

"Are we going to meet the dementors?" Pansy turned pale again due to physical contact.

"With my big light bulb, they won't hurt you," Draco joked, comparing the light emitted by his patronus to a light bulb, which made Pansy's tense face break into a smile. Her previous fear dissipated again.

Draco sneered at Dumbledore's request and the Ministry of Magic's binding force on the dementors, saying that it is strictly forbidden for them to enter the school. They act as if they are in a man's land during Quidditch games, but all promises are for sane people. They weigh the cost of breaking promises. You can hardly imagine this group of disgusting creatures knowing how to choose. Their only driving force is endless greed and thirst for happiness.

But it is undeniable that they do have wisdom, knowing how to betray and cling to the strong. Creatures without wisdom cannot do this.

There was a cold and solemn atmosphere as the two of them arrived at the castle gate. Dozens of dementors were wandering outside the school, looking at the students as if they were delicious dishes waiting to be tasted. They were waiting for an opportunity to hold their own feast.

The night wind roared and the cloaks of the dementors rustled. The dark night scene couldn't stop them from their "hunger for food." They didn't even have facial features. There was only a hole where their mouth should be, which could suck out people's souls. They use their sense of smell to judge humans.

"Food is here!" The dementors outside the school seemed to have this thought at the same time, if they had an organ like a heart. Groups of dementors floated towards the two of them, but they were still frightened by the stipulation that they couldn't cross the line. There was so much food in the school that they were unwilling to give up the entire forest for these two leaves. The prisoners in Azkaban went crazy after being "played" with by the dementors for two days and couldn't satisfy their appetite at all.

Fresh food and spoiled food, this choice is not confusing at all.
