Translation is good, MC hasn't changed anything in the original HP fanfic at all. Basically he just hops in and does everything for them. as of now it's the start of the 3rd year. Story doesn't go into the magic system all that much. Not much Chinese propaganda here, but there is some. Try to be mysterious about MCs abilities which is annoying because I want more detail on how he uses his magic

The Mc reminds me of Howl from Howl’s moving castle, it’s an old animation movie that’s very popular. Augustus the Mc is similar to Quinn West from HP: Magical Journey fanfic. Where they pursuit magic and knowledge above everything else. Mc doesn’t have any knowledge of the HP world and MC doesn’t care to intervene with the plot that doesn’t involve him directly. He gives advice to other main characters so you can say he’s a background character to the story but it’s only like this from the start. This fanfic is for the long run and it’s a refreshing to have an Mc that doesn’t see the world black or white good or evil. Hopefully my expectations are kept and hopefully as the stroy continues we learn more of our MC.

The story is progressing nicely until the "delegate from the east" arrived, thoroughly disrupting the flow of the story. The character's personality seemed to have changed abruptly, shattering the already established plot of the story. The notion for this change to be a plot twist is not going nicely. And the perspective and style of the writing has changed from a british one to a more chinese one, evidenced by the transition from a calculative thoughts of the characters to a more rash and brazen actions and thoughts of the characters. All in all this is still an ok story and I'll update this review more as I progress in the story.

Honestly, it's good. But it feels more like a diary than a novel. We do not often get to see MC's perspective. It's like some third person is narrating a story, that's why immersion in this novel is low.
