At home, Cele had duties and passions, and he craved to return as soon as he was able. Not only was Vincente awaiting the return of his adviser and general, but Carmen, too, was awaiting his return. Carmen, the woman whom he had already planned on marrying a month before the Simonese had invited themselves to the kingdom.
